We are in a FEMA disaster zone thanks to back-to-back storms. Apparently, the "fine print" about a storm being "named" created a reason for Generali to deny paying for the hotel stay --that we could not make because our flights were canceled. The airline gave us flight credit, but would Generali reimburse us even a fraction of what we paid for the hotel? No. Truly insult to injury.

Very good after difficult initial conversation.
The claim was approved very quickly. The money covered by your cancellation (25%) was received quickly. Selecting how we received the balance, the insurance payment was tediois. We needed to talk with a customer service representative, but we could never get by the virtual assistant. We sent six emails and the only two responses referred us back to the virtual assistant. A brief call with a human would have left us with a much better feeling.

Generalli misinterpreted our policy coverage, but once they realized that we were covered for our rental car claim, the process went smoothly. The agent was both pleasant and helpful.
My insurance and Princess are taking a long time to process their end, then i will begin with Squaremouth.
We ended up filing a claim with Generali Global Assistance because of a delay in a flight causing us to miss our connecting flight. The delay was because of a part that needed to be replaced. The claim was a valid, legitimate claim under the contract but they denied our claim several times. We persisted because it was obviously a valid claim and they finally paid the claim. It was frustrating that they didn't pay the claim with the original documentation that was given them because it clearly showed that it was a valid claim They were good at responding in a timely manner to all communications. This is my first experience in dealing with a travel insurance claim so maybe all companies are this frustrating when filing a claim. I will try a different company next time, though.

My experience was great. I have no complaints
We are in tg process of filing a claim.
But upon our return our house got hit by a hurricane and we have had no power or Internet for 5 days.
Generali was super easy to work with. Filing my claim online was simple. You can upload documentation from your phone and within 2 days I had a payment from them sent to me through Zelle. I will definitely use them again in the future and will highly recommend them to my friends and family for their travel insurance needs. Two thumbs up!
