Many Generali customers appreciate the fast and easy online claims process, with many highlighting how quickly they receive reimbursement. However, some customers find the claims portal and the provider’s automated phone system difficult to navigate.
I filed a claim (trip cancellation) back in January and it takes weeks to hear from them and they constantly change the paperwork need. I am still waiting for my most recent submission on February 21st (2024)

Stuck at airport after being denied boarding because some info was incorrect on one of our group's tickets. Lost 2days at resort. Checking fine print it would only be covered if the airline or the resort has filed for bankruptcy.
Useless policy.
Only good thing was I was joking at inside the window for cancelling the policy and getting my premium refunded.
We apologize for not meeting your expectations, Audrey. We aim to ensure our customers understand the coverage details of our plans and strongly recommend they review the Plan document that is provided at purchase. We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. The plan you purchased includes a Travel Delay coverage that can provide reimbursement for certain out-of-pocket expenses you might incur while delayed, but not in the event that passenger is not able to board the plane due to incorrect ticket information. Please reach out to us at (800) 348-9505 or via email at customerservice@generalitravelinsurance.com with any additional questions or concerns.
My only problem, having happened twice now, is that that haven’t replied to questions I’ve submitted through their Web portal. I’m tried to call, but the greeting was completely garbled. I made a claim on a previous trip, and once I had a person to work with and her phone number, things went for me.

I had to change the dates of my policy and was extremely frustrated trying to talk to a person. Automated voice was not helpful at all!!! I t took me days to try to contact someone. I went through emails, phone calls (but not a good number). Eventually I wrote a letter to the headquarters. Very frustrating experience to just make minor changes to my policy

It is hard and slow to get anywhere. Confusing web forms, not user friendly. Still dont know if i will be compensated for trip interruption
Review Updated: 05/09/2024
Our trip was interrupted when debris on the track caused us to be bussed back to Vancouver after just 3 hours. The agent said the 150% refund does not apply because after the interruption it became a cancellatio, as no trains could run. We had to find new flights to return home, stay in a hotel til then, eat at restaurants. All this, Generali won't cover at all..(finally agreed to pay airfare trade up to return home..(for one of us so far).
They say they do not refund original airfare to Canada because "we used the flight" although the use of flight was sadly un- useful, since our vacation was interrupted.
We paid over $2200 for the policy based on train, flights, and the expenses prepaid through Freshtracks. We were only refunded, the Freshtracks charges, at 100%, not counting Via costs, since Via refunded us for the train. About 9k from Generali. Via refunded about 16k. Not the %150 promised on application for interruption.
So I think we are owed 50% of the 25k, as promised, plus airfare and hotel after the interuption. I think you should not recommend them. We have been requesting a payment since the first week of March, and received the part in mid April, still need the rest.
Thank you for your review, Linda. We’re sorry to hear about the circumstances surrounding your claim and for not meeting your expectations. I was hoping that our one night in a houseboat, that was uninhabitable, would have been covered.
