Our luggage was misplaced for 6 days. No one could tell us where it was. Because of close connections which we missed, we were rescheduled twice, so we had different airlines.
Our insurance document said there was $200 per person for delayed luggage. I sent receipts for things we had to purchase. So we were given that amount. If you weren't going to pay the $200 per person, then the document should have said 'Up to $200 per person'.
We have paid a lot of money to Generali Global Insurance. Certainly, we will not be paying anything further to them.

We are waiting to see if Generali Global Assistance will process our claim. My husband tested positive on the day we were to fly to Egypt from London. We were not able to join our tour group. The trip cost in excess of $18,000. The tour company requires all participants to purchase trip insurance. We chose Squaremouth to help us with our insurance needs. We purchased their policy and we are waiting to see if Generali Global Assistance and Squaremoth do what they said in their promotional literature.

The Insurance company sent me a notification and asked if I needed their assistance. I refused because I had a courtsey well check from the hotel physcian and was fine. I was extremely please with the Policy company immediate follow up.

I cannot comment on the claim process yet. I filed a claim by mail at the start of this week after returning from Italy. I have not heard anything yet, so I cannot comment on the claim process or result. The global assistance provided was easy and effective. It is a minor claim for some medical expenses.
The best support was getting a doctor in Italy to see me the day I called and to return quickly for a final review.

I thought I was going to have a delay that would require either getting stuck overnight in an airport or having to book another flight. I called the 24 hr assistance and was told (what *I* know already) that I would have to pay for any changes / hotel stays, etc "out of my own pocket" and apply for a claim after the trip.
I think this should be highlighted in all the insurance policies where it applies so that for us confused, stranded, stressed policy holders we aren't tied up in a long conversation getting this explained to us.

So far I am NOT impressed w/ Generali Global Assistance. When we were heading to our cruise from Richmond VA, our Delta flight had numerous delays leading to a great deal of stress trying to get to our cruise ship departing out of Boston.
I called the Generali help line and the guy on the phone said there was nothing they could do until I had 10 hours of delay??! And that no one is available except for M-F?! Extremely disappointing when I thought I purchased a policy that would have a company help me with travel issues?
I had to purchase a one way "same day" Jet Blue flight for 2 in order to get us to Boston in time for our cruise. I filed a Trip Interruption/Delay claim on 10/20/23 and have not received ANY communication from them re: status of my claim.

The on line claim process has a glitch that I could not get through. The CS agent referred me to a help@ address but I got a not very helpful pre made email and no sign of someone calling me back to remedy this.
With insurance policies, all that matter are the ease and customer service when making a claim, the rest is just irrelevant fluff.
Then they ask if they can contact me in 4 weeks to review my claim knowing that my claim is not complete, ignoring that I am having trouble competing it which is a website glitch on their end.
