I tried to file a claim - their on-line claims module failed miserably. It kept rejecting my UN and PW, even though I was logged in and using the same credentials, as required, for the claims site. I contacted them on text - phone number said use the on-line module - the text person couldn't help, they said use the on-line module that DOESN'T WORK! This feels like it is designed to discourage filing a claim.
The person in the chat was nothing short of rude and uncooperative. I asked that my request be escalated and never got a response.
Purchasing through Squaremouth has always been easy - this company, Generali, is proving to be a terrible choice.
The claim I wanted to file was for a broken tooth - happened near the end of our trip. We were traveling in a remote region, no access to a computer. So I waited until we got home. We also missed a connection in Amsterdam and got home so late that the usual bus we take from the airport was not running - they stop running at midnight. It cost us $185 to take an Uber. Usual price for the bus is $9 each. We are filing 2 claims.

I thought our claim was resolved fairly quickly, although it took just over 3 weeks from submission to receipt of checks from Generali. I thought the process was hassle-free and we would consider their products/services for future international travels.

I was able to get through to a live agent today! Wanted to file claim on losing my Japan Rail pass and having to purchase tickets, but they said it was not covered. It is human error. Wish it was covered.

It took me three days to file my claim. I found the claim filing system, tedious and difficult with having to pull up sample documents, print out my patient disclosure form, and submit my documentation. I have never bought travelers insurance when I have traveled to different parts of the world, but I am glad I did this time because I needed to be seen by a specialist when I was in New Zealand.

My husband and I experienced delays both departing for our trip to Slovenia and returning. We filed a claim with General for lost luggage and clothing purchased which was paid out very quickly, but it was for less than $60. Our larger claim was for an unreimbursed hotel stay near the Zurich airport where we were forced to spend the night and a claim for losing the first full day of our tour in Slovenia. We have provided every bit of documentation we have including information from the tour company regarding the dollar value of the missed portion of the tour and Generali continues to question us and ask for documentation that simply does not exist. It have been nearly one month since filing the claim and we remain uncompensated. Luckily we did not need to make a claim regarding our return trip, which was fraught with difficulties but we did make it home safely and without having to stay extra unplanned overnights. Right now I cannot highly recommend Generali. I do hope my opinion will change.

online claim filing and tracking somewhat cumbersome, claim status information on the portal is not updated and does not match phone response, both are not detailed. Inconvenient document upload process, had to repeat filing three times as files were not uploaded or did not show up after the submission.
Claim was completed after reaching out to the claim adjuster, took two months in total. Resolution was as good as expected.

My problem is with GENERALI is they failed to pay the amount I believe I am due and seem to have a problem finding an individual who is willing to explain why. I have called several time and the person in charge of my claim and their claim supervisor are unavailable are and apparently not trained in how to make a phone call as I have never received a return call.
My wife lost her bracelet while on a evening cruse on the River Seine in Paris. I submitted a copy of the original sales slip, a copy of the original cash register receipt, a copy of the official statement from our Trafalger Tour leader. And a copy of the German police report (the first police department willing to take our report as we left Paris the first thing the next morning) to Generali.
The cost of the bracelet was $1,143.93. Our policy has a $1,000.00 limit. We received $750.00 from Generali. There is a statement in the policy that they will only pay 75% of claims unless a cash register receipt is presented which I did. Still trying to get my additional $250 back.
