I purchased primary medical insurance for an overseas trip and had to file a fairly minor medical claim that included doctor visits as well as prescription medicines. It took Generali 30 days to review the claim and ask for clarification on certain points; we went back and forth for another 2 weeks while I provided them with more information (including CC statements to show currency in dollars that I spent) on the claims portal. They then notified me that they approved the claim and I got a check within the week. Overall I'm very pleased with how straightforward the process was and would definitely buy insurance from them again.

First of all the connection was absolutely horrendous. I could hardly hear the representatives I spoke with. Third time was kind of the charm, the gentleman I ended up speaking with was somewhat audible. If anyone asks me about the value of this insurance, I would tell them to might as well flush the money down the drain.

They were a little slow, but they did come through in the end by paying me the full amount of the funds paid for my cruise.
My trip to Peru was postponed to next year so I was able to move the insurance coverage to next year.

Our trip was canceled 1 week before departure as my husband collapsed and almost died. He was in the hospital for almost 7 weeks! We filed a complete claim the middle part of March. Generali has all the filled out forms, plus my husband checked the form agreeing to give them access to all medical records regarding his emergency: all 612 pages! They claim they haven’t received the medical records; however, my husband contacted the medical records department at the hospital and they wrote him that they have NEVER received a request. This is outrageous!! Generali has had months to take care of this and they have done nothing. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. If we don’t get our refund, we will be raising this issue with other pertinent parties. No customer should have to go through this.

I will always use this travel insurance. We bought it mainly in case one of us got covid and we had to cut our expensive trip short. However, our luggage was delayed and they also cover that. I filed a claim with them and it was easy. I have heard horror stories about filing travel insurance claims. This was easy and the turn around was one day. They emailed me that I would be covered for my purchases and received a check in a few weeks!
My husband had a medical emergency while traveling. I was informed that I should file a claim with our health insurance first before I can do it with Generali. I’m waiting for their response. After that I will give you more feedback

I changed my itinerary slightly and needed to add a few extra days coverage. I tried calling the number recommended and was unable to get through to anyone other than a recorded selection of actions to take. None of which helped me. I finally called the "claims" number and the person (real) was able to assist me. I also had tried to change my dates of travel on your website and that did not work either.
