I faxed them the claim on Dec 27 and have hard nothing from them. I called and left word, but I have still heard nothing.

I needed to file a claim through the same company/policy type on my previous trip and I was so pleased with the way they handled that claim I purchased the insurance again for this trip and will again for all trips in the future!

Before Trip
Less than 4 weeks before our cruise, my sister had emergency heart surgery. She was one of the 4 travelers insured on the policy. We all cancelled our cruise and notified CSA. Even though we did not have cancellation coverage on the poliy, CSA was kind enough to refund the entire premium paid.
That was completly unexpected and very much appreciated by all of us.
We intend to continue to use Squaremouth and CSA for all of our travel insurance needs.

Low customer service rating is simply because none was required...everything I needed was available on line.
During Trip
I did not all on the company at all during the trip. We did have an issue that could have resulted in a claim, but the airline compensated us. This was a flight (UA #916 Jan. 17 IAD - FRA) where the pilot detected smoke in the cockpit over Newfoundland and the flight returned to IAD. They transported us the following day after accommodating us in a hotel and also gave us frequent flier mileage and free travel vouchers as compensation. The company that sold us Italian railroad reservations likewise changed reservations free of charge. We changed our itinerary to add one more hotel night so I suppose we could claim that, but we will not. In any case we did not contact the insurance carrier at all.
