IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
Purchase experience was good including contacting IMG to adjust the dates of the trip prior to departure. Unfortunately prior to departure we had a medical emergency that resulted in my spouse being unable to travel. Her doctor signed off on the IMG form to certify her situation as medically unfit to travel and also included this fact in his notes recapping the details of her hospital visit on the day prior to our scheduled departure. All of this information was provided to IMG to start our claim for cancellation for medical reasons. The IMG claims website says that we would hear back from IMG within 10 business days regarding their decision or if any additional information is needed for our claim. I heard nothing after 10 business days so I called the IMG claims department where their representative said that the website statement is untrue and that their processing time is 30 business days. I now have a bad feeling about this company if I cannot trust what it says on their own website and is lying to me already at the beginning of the claims process. Final opinion will come once the claim is processed.

First, I'd like to say that the Squaremouth Zero Complaint guarantee is a wonderful feature of buying a policy from this agency. They helped me settle my claim which the insurance carrier (IMG Global) was continually dragging out and repeatedly asking for the same information which had already been provided. We had a very straightforward claim where my wife was hospitalized the day before our planned trip departure AND her treating physician had signed off on IMG's very own form as well as document their advice to her NOT to travel in the official hospital visit record all of which was provided to IMG on the date the initial claim was made. IMG's website says they need 10 business day to consider your claim; I called them to follow up after 10 business days and they told me that their website was incorrect. After waiting a total of about 20 business days they said that informaiton was missing from my claim (which actually was not) so I submitted that again a second time and they told me they needed an additonal 12 business days. Then after about 2 months, I had heard nothing so I called them again to follow up. The customer service person agreed that they were "late" but refused to let me speak with anyone from the claims department because that is "their policy" (to not communicate with the customer). I was told by customer service that the claim would now be "expedited" because it was late. Another week went by and I hear nothing further so finally, as I began to feel that I had been scammed on this policy, I went back to an email from Squaremouth agency that said they would help if needed. As soon as I engaged Squaremouth agency on my behalf, the claim was paid immediately. I like to get what I pay for when I buy insurance or anything else. Good insurance means good claims service; IMG Global does not have this. Please save yourself the hassle if you have a claim and buy a different policy. That being said the folks at Squaremouth agency are top rate for customer service. I will buy from their agency again but choose a different insurance provider.

There were a lot of questions before purchasing the plan and all were answered. The person was patient and courteous and offered suggestions to help ensure we purchased a plan that fulfilled our needs. We have since purchased a plan for our next trip.
It has been over 10 days that I submitted the claim and I have not heard from anyone yet.

IMG did not respond to the claim in the time frame stated. Squaremouth emailed me to inquire how the claim process was going and I let them know. Within 2 days the claim was processed and check issued! Thank you!
I actually did not take the trip as it was canceled by the cruise company. I thought I got the coverage transferred to another cruise this August. Now I’m not sure if that was actually completed on you end.
A little difficult to manage claim online but was resolved in about 2 months.
The insurance website was not working to file a small claim for an emergency on a cruise ship so I had to call the company and was emailed a form. I filled out and sent all documentation. Ten days later they notified me the paperwork was not complete. They wanted me to go back to the "attending physician" to have him fill out paperwork!!! This was the ship doctor on a Holland American ship. They had the medical center report and the bill and my final statement showing we had paid the bill. This insurance company is requiring impossible and nonsensical paperwork. How am I to contact a doctor that works on the cruise ship after the cruise? Even if I could, the doctor would only send the record I already gave the insurance company. Fortunately, it was only an allergic reaction and not a TIA but I believe this insurance company would only cause huge headaches for anyone having a sizable claim. Mine was only for one emergency visit and condition was rectified by the medical clinic I have always bought but never had to use insurance for over 30 years of travel but in the future wonder if it's a waste of money. I will be extremely careful who I use and see if any reviews have actually had claims paid. This was a new company for me, and I absolutely do not recommend it.
