IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
My checked luggage was delayed. I have filed a claim against my airline to recover the cost of replacement clothings. Based on the settlement amount, i plan to file a claim against IMG. When all is settled, i will then provide feedbacks.

The company advertised they would provide assistance to track lost luggages. This is false. At the airport when i found out my luggage did not travel with me, I called IMG's contact number and was re-directed to a recording to file a claim report using IMG's website. I called again and got the same results. Of course i would file a claim but at that moment my need was to find out where my luggages are and when it would be delivered. Very disappointed.
There was confusion about which policy price I was quoted on originally. I wound up paying more than the original quote to cover my trip.
I had trip interruption because of unexpected illness, which required a 3-night stay in a New Orleans hospital and leaving the cruise early.
Your forms require that one section to be filled out by the attending physician. I have not yet been able to contact that physician, although I have all hospital records as well as the discharge papers. Therefore I can not file my claim until I get in touch with the physician (who is in another state).
We experienced a trip interruption due to a medical event for which we were insured. I submitted medical documents and travel receipts. Two weeks later I was asked for credit card statements and more receipts. On day 32 I emailed and called for an update with no substantive response. The law in my state requires a determination by day 45. On day 43 my claim was approved. This company uses delay tactics and stonewalling to avoid paying what they owe, and provides minimal information along the way.
We had an illness cause a delay in our trip and had to purchase flights to rejoin our itinerary. We have submitted a claim and are waiting the 20-30 day review process. more to follow. The claim is rather straight forward. We have submitted the claim and now will just wait and see. All of the people we have spoken with have been helpful and pleasant.

We submitted our claim and were asked to send more info, which we did. It took 2-3 weeks but our travel interruption claim was approved and paid. the process took 7 weeks.
My flight was delayed on the way home from JFK to Chicago. It looked like we would need a hotel and meals, etc. I called customer service and they helped me navigate the coverage and options. In the end, our fligght was not canceled. It was good peace of mind to have the policy and the advice when I needed it. No wait to talk to customer service!
Very easy to compare policies on the site based on my needs. Only downside/complaint is I saved a policy with a quote and took a few days to discuss with my husband before purchasing to make sure it was really what we needed in coverage. When I went to purchase the policy, the premium jumped almost $100! Because my husband had a birthday and was now a year older. Lesson learned!
Due to a medical condition I was not able to go on the trip. The condition requires a surgical procedure. A TRIP CANCELATION CLAIM was filed. Reports from two physicians were filed.
Documentation from providers, all refunds, trip
refund policies, etc. have been provided. I have pro~
bided a medical records access authority. Numerous files of documentation’s supporting the claim. Now I wait on them nearly 2 mos. after filing the claim.
???????????
I have been purchasing my policies from Squaremouth for well over 10 years and never travel without insurance. I insured our ski trip for February 2025 with IMG. I hadn't previously purchased from this company. A medical issue prevented us from traveling. I filed a claim via IMG's online system. I provided every single document that was requested, every receipt, every cancellation, not a thing was missing. YET, for two months, instead of paying my claim, they kept sending me notices that documentation was missing, without specifying what it was. I called their customer service. The representative on the phone reviewed the information I submitted. She also could not understand what was missing. She sent an email internally to explain that documents appeared to be complete and asked what was missing. The response I received was simply that documentation was incomplete, again with no specific information. NEVER an explanation of what was missing. So I filed a case with Squaremouth, a nice representative reviewed it with me and said that they would contact the insurer. The NEXT DAY I received a notice that my claim was being paid in full. So apparently IMG did have all the documentation they needed as I was not asked to provide anything else! This company had used nonsensical emails claiming non-specific missing documentation to delay payment by months. Not only will I never buy from IMG again, but I advise others not to as well. Scammers who treat customers badly. On my blacklist.
IMG has terrible support for claims. I had to cancel my entire trip due to a medical reason and the reimbursement process was awful. I would never recommend them. I gave them two stars instead of one because they eventually did pay my claim.
1. The customer service phone support only has access to the same information received via email, which is essentially that your documents were received and what their standard response time is. There is absolutely no way to speak to a person who is actually processing your claim to clarify anything.
2. in my case, they asked for information I already have given them several times.
3. I had gone to urgent care twice the week before I was supposed to depart for my insured trip (I was away from home), and IMG insisted that they needed something from my primary care doctor (whom I didn't have access to while I was sick) in addition to my urgent care visits, which had already documented everything. This is just one example of their unreasonable requests.
4, They only paid my claim after I sent an email threatening to file a complaint with the NJ Depart of Banking and Insurance.
5.They clearly use stall tactics to delay paying claims, including: asking for information that was already given, requiring me to pay for a visit with my primary care doctor two months after the fact, and then waiting a full four weeks after my last correspondence of my threatening letter to pay the claim.
