IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
Canceling our trip, due to a medical issue, has been more work that planning the entire trip to begin with, and we have had not satisfaction from IMG or iTravel. Because we never actually started the trip, we had to try to cancel everything ourselves and submit documents for every detail, even when we were fully reimbursed by the hotel or rental car, etc. Now, they keep asking for documents I do not have available or that I have explained already.
It seems like buying this insurance is a waste for anyone that plans for and makes all of the arrangements independently, using multiple travel providers for their travels.
It was easy. Would have appreciated a status update during processing but am happy the claims were paid.
Nothing much happened fortunately; only one thing was important....you answered the phone without too much nonsense (menu changes etc.) before I got a person in order to talk about purchasing a plan. Keep that up!
I called a few times because my brother had a serious medical issue on the cruise ship and we believed at the time that we were going to have to cut our trip short. I called more than once and received different information each time I called. It was a bit frustrating when we were really worried about my brother but I knew if I didn’t try to take care of any information we may need at the time, it would make it difficult to try to successfully file a claim later. I am to relieved based on the interactions I had that I didn’t have to try to file a claim.
They did pay the routine doctor bill, but it was slow. Our payment was finally received two months after it was filed. It seems they delayed payment as long as possible. The claim was only for $192! They did pay, however, so no big deal in the end.
Very disappointed with this company. I used them before but this is the first time I called for help. My wife and I both mildly ill in Mexico. We needed medical advice/referral as is listed on our card. We called IMG at around 8 am on June 28. We were told there was no medical personnel available to consult with until after 9 am. They didn’t even ask if it was a medical emergency. There is no point is advertising 24 hour medical service when it’s not. Fortunately it wasn’t a dire medical emergency. I wouldn’t use this company again.

I filed a claim on June 1 and am still waiting to hear from you. I have called 4 times and my claim still has not been addressed. It’s caused me great stress and anxiety and I’m incredibly frustrated with the lack of response and attention to my claim.

I am still waiting for may claim to be resolved. The process is painfully slow with almost no communication. This was a cut and dry claim and they have stalled every step of the way. I won't be using IMG again...this has been a terrible customer service experience.

In order to get my claim resolved with IMG I had to get Squaremouth involved. IMG was taking a very long time and was not communicating any sort of progress on my claim. I am convinced based on the other reviews of IMG that IMG's goal is to take as long as possible to reimburse their customers so they just give up and cancel the claim. Squaremouth was excellent in getting my claim resolved. Once Squaremouth got involved, my claim was resolved in less then a week. I will not be using IMG again due to this experience.
