Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
My complaint is with Tin Leg and Seven Corners. I had a trip delay which was not accepted because delays have to be caused by a common carrier. Tin Leg's Schedule of Benefits shows a Trip Delay being a minimum of 6 hours delay. Because we missed our flight because of a accident to the airport this was not covered. This is a typical insurance scam, don't pay and see what happens. Because the loss to me was missing one night at Secrets in Cancun, $606.39 in does not pay to use my lawyer, but small claims court might be the answer.
During our 2 months in Africa, I was glad to feel adequately insured, and even more glad to not need to file a claim.
Obviously, the most meaningful reviews come from those who do file claims, and that sometimes that seems to get hidden behind by the superficial comments concerning "how was your sign-up experience?"
Overall, I am a strong SquareMouth supporter.
First time purchasing travel insurance. Felt Tin Leg made it easy, and Square Mouth offered the plan I wanted for a competitive price. Will considered using them again the next time I travel.
We just returned from the trip. We did experience a delay on thee return leg of the trip due to the winter storms in the New York area and are filing a claim. So far the process has been smooth.

The rates were very good and the coverage for what I needed was also excellent.
Very long to pay claim + their support people do not follow through ... Very poor
It is always a better experience if you do not have to use the insurance you purchase - actually, for both of us!
Our trip was delayed for medical reasons which added $2,000 in airline fare. Our claim was rejected on dubious grounds. If we had canceled the trip (which we considered), we would have been refunded $15,000. Tin Leg should have refunded us the $2,000.
Tin Leg was also dishonest. When I called on Feb 4, I was told by Rachel that a decision will be made in a week. Today, Feb 9, I received a letter dated Jan 30 rejecting our claim.
We would never recommend Tin Leg.
When I was leaving I noticed the return date was wrong . I called and they corrected it.
