    Tin Leg ignored and misinterpreted evidence in physician statement submitted with claim and certain information in our claim regarding the capability of an insured to travel at time of purchasing policy. Tin Leg refused to waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion and in reliance on an alleged pre-existing condition, denied the claim. Tin Leg also did not process the claim in a timely manner and was not very helpful in describing our options to appeal following the denial of our claim.Would not purchase a travel insurance policy from Tin Leg in future. Very dissatisfied!

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have spoken with our claims team to gather more information about your situation. I understand that your claim was unfortunately denied because your trip was canceled due to a pre-existing condition. I also understand that your claim has been appealed with the underwriter, and that the denial was upheld.

    Pre-existing conditions are a common exclusion within most travel insurance plans. Only policies with the Pre-Existing Condition benefit can cover pre-existing conditions that impact a trip. Unfortunately, your policy did not include this coverage. I apologize that your claim did not have a more favorable outcome.

    It was easy to file a claim both online and in person with the helpline. However, I have to wait almost 3 weeks for an interview to process my claim. The appointments are only 15 minutes, but apparently there aren’t any available until then. I think that’s a long time to wait.

    One question answered by phone call live prior to purchase. Fortunately trip was successful so no need to use policy

    I missed my flight & am not eligible for any compensation. I called as soon as I could to report this issue but was advised by staff that 2 weeks notice was necessary. I lost my ticket fee & your charges.
    I Lost nearly a thousand dollars and am on a fixed income. I am not happy.
    So...no trip & lost income. I would not recommend this plan with family & friends who travel extensively.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I’m sorry that your travel plans were canceled. In order for Trip Cancellation coverage to apply, your trip must be canceled for a covered reason. Unfortunately, not arriving in time for your flight is not a covered reason within the Trip Cancellation benefit.

    I can not produce a purchase receipt for my damaged luggage though I had a receipt for purchase of replacement luggage.
    It was a 3 year old suitcase that the zipper got broken by baggage handling on the first leg of my outbound trip and I had to purchase a replacement piece enroute to my destination.
    I could not produce the required documentation and so, I canceled my claim.
    I was in contact with very courteous Tin Leg personnel several times when I tried to make the claim. I disagreed with what was required for documentation to make my claim but that was the policy.
    The helpful attention was the reason for my rating.
