Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I believe Tin Leg was closed on 1st of Jan and I was leaving on Jan 1st so i couldn't talk with them before I left. And I couldn't make any international calls which meant I had to wait to take care of it when I came back 3 weeks later which I wanted to try to take care of it before my next trip. This was disheartening! I don't like the Insurance because I have a waiting period if i miss my next flight!
Hi Roger
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I apologize that we were not available when you attempted to contact us. I understand you have filed your claim and scheduled a claim interview with a member of our team.
In the meantime, please let us know if we can help in anyway. Our customer service team is available daily from 8am to 10pm ET, and we are delighted to help!
I asked a question and instead of an answer a claim was automatically filed. Time for all parties could have been saved by just answering the question.
Follow up, communication, and resolution of the claim has been very poor
Review Updated: 01/24/2024
The claim process was handled poorly
It took far too long to be settled, and for me to be reimbursed
Communication was poor, and at times I felt as if I was being scammed and purposely delayed and misinformed
very useful; the site and prices are competitive with others. I do wonder if there is a bias toward TinLeg because of its relationship with Squaremouth. More hep on hw to choose would be appreciated. Forbes Advisor is a pain because of all the junk it sends you.
We just returned from our 6 Weeks in Punta Cana... we reported to Tin Leg via eMail that we would like the Claim Forms. They responded the following day vie eMail, that they wish to set up an appointment over the phone to speak with my wife who will be filing the claim. This is in the process now, but could be delayed because of the Holidays... anyway so far our experience has been positiv with Tin Leg.
Well defined plan with competitive pricing. Easy to interact with customer service to make change to the plan when travel cost changed
Claim was paid except for $60 which was stated as a mon -covered expense. Make sure you keep all receipts and proof of travel. Staff was friendly and helpful
Easy to find and purchase a policy. Price was right. And when I needed a modification to the policy, customer service made it simple.
Tin Leg is causing some difficulty. Making small claim ($1500) go through many unnecessary steps.
Hi Marietta
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I apologize for the frustration you have experienced during the claims process. I have spoken with our claims team for an update on your situation. I understand you have completed your claim form, and that our team has requested the supporting documentation for your claim. This documentation is necessary to determine whether or not your claim can be covered. I apologize again for the frustration you have experienced.
1. Purchasing through Squaremouth.com was easy and efficient. The only reason I did not give it 5 * is because it does not stratify reviews based on whether or not a claim has been filed. I did not incorporate my concern that Squaremouth would promote a fraudulent insurer into the rating because I do not at this time have proof that this is the case.
2. My experience with Tin Leg has been very poor. I had purchased an expensive Cancel for Any Reason policy. I cancelled my trip to Jordan and was informed that I would likely not receive any compensation because war was an automatic exclusion for compensation; this reasoning ignored the fact that the country of Jordan is not at war. I have since filed the claim and I am now under the impression that Tin Leg is trying to exhaust me with repeated requests for information in a different format. Every 1-2 weeks I submit the requested information then after a period of time (1-2 weeks) I am advised that I need to submit the information in a different format. To date I do not see any evidence that there is a good faith attempt to honor their policy
