Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I am lucky that I did not need to use the insurance services. I am assuming if I had done so, they should’ve and would’ve completed what they have promised. It was a little bit difficult to set up at first, and I had to make a few calls to Customer Service but they were very nice and helped to figure out the plan that I was getting the cost, etc. actually in the future since I travel frequently to Europe, I would like to have a phone number or an email where I can reach out to them directly and set this up for when I travel abroad.
Really appreciate the service... Thank you
The representatives were helpful and kept me informed about what documents needed to be submitted. I was able to manage this claim through the website and submitted all needed information as directed.
I think the claim process was expedited in a reasonable fashion. However, Tin Leg denied the majority of my claim because I paid it with a "certificate", which they don't allow. I actually paid for the majority of the claim ($1,000) with my United Travel Bank, money that I earned from taking United flights. Had I known that Tin Leg would deny the claim because I used my Travel Bank, I would have paid the entire amount myself. I am not sure how I was supposed to know that I couldn't pay with Travel Bank money, but that is how it turned out. I am not satisfied at all.
The claim process was straightforward. The outcome was fair. My only complaint was having to submit one document twice.
your staff is very helpful and informative.
called for clarification when obtaining insurance
I was delayed on my way home and unexpectedly spent 4 nights in an airport away from home. I called customer service from there to understand my coverage. It was easy to get through -- during business hours only tho -- and my questions were answered. However, it was disappointing that my policy won't cover anything on the return trip, even tho I was still across the country.
I filed a claim with Tin Leg on 1/26/26. I received an automated email. I haven't heard from them. I also sent an email. Please help me process my claim. What is the point of buying travel insurance if you can't get the coverage owed?
We understand your frustration and want to get your claim back on track. It appears there may be a communication gap, as our records show we’ve sent two emails regarding your claim:
Jan 26: Claim form and instructions sent.
Feb 2: Follow-up sent requesting your completed forms and documents.
Since you haven't seen these, please check your Spam/Junk folder. To ensure you have everything you need, a member of our team will call you shortly to confirm your email address and walk you through the next steps.
I am quite disappointed seeing that Tinleg declined my claim - trip delay was the cause and main reason to get the insurance.
If they act similarly in other situations (e.g., emergencies where you need to get to your home country) I would not want to make that experience. I will be hesitant to buy another insurance from Tinleg
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Your claim was denied because your flight delay was not a covered reason under the policy. We recognize this outcome is disappointing, and we're happy to help with any further questions. Please feel free to email your claim adjuster directly.
