Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
As retired airline staff, we travel frequently. Over the years, we have purchased many travel policies and we’re familiar with the contracts. Unfortunately, our experience in filing a claim with Tin leg was quite negative and I would not recommend them to any traveler. After our claim was filed and documentation sent as requested, Tin Leg repeatedly sent automated and contradictory requests that had nothing to do with our claim. The company is unresponsive in acknowledging the status of the documents already sent and repeatedly asks for endless information, including medical records that were irrelevant to the claim. Our multiple requests, by phone and in writing, to speak with a claims adjuster were ignored. Customer service answers the phone. But, they only say they will pass on your request and no one responds. I would not recommend Tin Leg Insurance to any traveler. It’s clear their strategy is to wear you down by requesting endless and irrelevant documentation. They don’t come out and deny your claim. They just **** the clock by asking you for more and more documentation until you go away. So, stay away!
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We want to clarify that our team did respond to all submitted documentation in a timely manner, and acknowledgements were sent each time materials were received. Additionally, our claims adjuster has since spoken directly with you to address your concerns. We understand this can be frustrating, and we're here to help. Please reach out to your claim adjuster by email so we can set up a time to talk and provide more clarity if you still have questions or concerns.
I was not able to go on the trip because my wife passed away a few days before the trip began.
the Canada travel then to UK and it covered both was good it just was not that clear on the form that is why I HAD TO CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE
NA
Process to file claim pretty straightforward. Have not yet received a response to my submission, so that will determine final assessment of their service.
I was told by customer service that the insurance did not cover an FAA employee shortage, which happens every day of the year... WORTHLESS
Thank you for your feedback. Most policies only cover delays caused by specific events listed in the policy, and routine FAA staffing shortages aren’t typically included. Travel insurance does offer many other valuable benefits to give you peace of mind throughout your trip.
With insurance, personal safety is guaranteed. Travel with peace of mind. Have a pleasant trip.
Had no problems so did not have to interact with the Insurance.
Have purchased fifteen plus policies through Squaremouth.com. Most of them Tin-Leg. We’ve never filed a claim in the past. Hope our experience having to file a claim is not disappointing.
Selecting and purchasing a policy was easy. I always purchase a policy just in case never expecting to use it. But unfortunately I needed medical care following an incident and feel very fortunate to have obtained it. Filing the claim was very easy online. However, some documents have sensitive, confidential info and I would feel more assured if the system and process was more explicitly secure when submitting these documents.
