Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
It was very easy to compare the travel policies for our needs which included COVID protection, emergency evacuation and, since I am on Medicare with a supplement, a high medical limit. I called an agent to get a better explanation of trip delay versus trip interruption and she was helpful. I am glad I didn’t have to use the insurance and it was reasonable enough for the “peace of mind” coverage.
We used a credit from a prior cancelled trip to pay for a new policy. We had to choose an identical policy to the one which had been canceled, although our needs had changed somewhat. The agent explained that the policies they sold were underwritten by different insurers, therefore changing from one level of coverage to another was not always allowed.
Thanks Tin Leg for extending the policy we had purchased for a trip in 2020 that we ended up taking in October 2021. Everything about getting the extension in place was made easy by your excellent customer service!
You were most accommodating. My trip had to be rescheduled 3 times and you graciously changed the insurance each time.
TinLeg has outsourced claims processing to Broadspire, which needs to improve responding to customer inquiries and be proactive on updating customer claims.
The process of acquiring insurance was relatively smooth and seamless. When Covid threw a wrench into our plans, Tin Leg worked with us to adjust dates and costs with very little difficulty. The agents I spoke to were very helpful and our needs were addressed quickly. All in all, it was a very positive experience. Fortunately, we were not required to make any claims, so I have no experience with that aspect of Tin Leg.
I am so glad I could call and ask questions of a real person and by on the phone rather than being forced back to the internet which is confusing!
The folks I spoke to on the phone at Tin Leg were all very nice, professional and efficient. However, I did try to contact Tinleg on Oct 17 from Brussels airport around 11 am local time [unfortunately, 5 am eastern US time] and did not get an answer from the 24 hour phone line. I understand it was early in the US, but if you define your help-line as "24/7" , then I was hoping that I would have had my phone call answered. I wanted to ask a question about our 8 hour arrival delay and later, a lost bag]

Dumb error.
I needed a plan that had overseas COVID coverage as well as SCUBA accident coverage—plans were easy to find, and customer service was incredibly helpful in picking out the right plan! Thank you!
