Claim procedure is a little cumbersome, they need my travel itenary, copy of receipt for my policy, both of which should be in my file under my policy number.

When I originally booked the trip, I thought that the start date would be 11/20. After some back and forth with the tour company and the rest of the group, we landed on a start date that required me to leave the US on 11/18. At the last minute (2 weeks before the trip), I realized that my policy was wrong. I called and the customer service group adjusted immediately (and provided an immediate update) without charge. This really helped lessen the stress of travel preparation. Thanks! Really appreciated.

I find the Squaremouth website to meet my travel insurance needs continually. I like their side by side insurance policy comparisons and the ability to read customer reviews. I understand that many customer reviews these days are not truly to be trusted, but so far I have found this available information to be useful. This was my first time to purchase a policy with Tin Leg. Fortunately, as I always feel, I did not need to use my policy. Another feature I find very beneficial is that the last two trips I insured, I added my airfare and additional travel plans later after my initial purchase. This site makes it easy to add coverage that arises with plans made around a tour that was booked before other plans could be made months later.

It was comforting to know that we had insurance in case we met with an emergency while on our trip. There were a few folks on our tour who did not purchase this type of insurance and not only were they facing some large medical bills, but they had to extend their stay in a hotel and pay that cost as well as the cost to change their ticket. Travel insurance is a great thing!!!
