Disappointed that Tin Leg would not refund the cost of the first night in our hotel and one of the museum tours despite a trip delay of more than 24 hours due to an aircraft mechanical failure.

I apologize that your claim did not have a more favorable outcome. I have spoken with our claims team and understand that the Travel Delay portion of your claim has been paid, however not the first day of your trip that you missed as a result of the delay.
Unfortunately, as our claims team discussed with you, in order for you to be eligible for reimbursement for the missed portion of your trip under Trip Interruption, the policy requires that you miss at least 50% of your overall trip.

I first heard about Tin Leg from my travel agent as I prepared for my trip. She said Tin Leg had an excellent reputation among her other clients for service -- as well as well as fair pricing for those of us 65+ (I am 72) .When I called for a quote, I was happily surprised by the price quoted -- which was $300. less than a company I have used before-- for the same coverage! That, plus the helpful friendly customer service, and the fact of its' Superior rating and being underwritten by Berkshire Hathaway , made it my obvious choice. I felt confident throughout my thrilling Rwanda adventure of climbing the Virunga mountains to be with the gorillas, that if anything happened , Tin Leg had me covered. Fortunately, all went perfectly well, and this was indeed THE ultimate trip of my lifetime!
