The customer service rep was very helpful and reassuring when I spoke to them on the phone.
It wasn’t clear which is the correct number to call. I phoned the number on the policy and they told me I was calling the wrong number and gave me another number. When I called that number the recording said the office was closed (not 24 hrs). Very frustrating when you want an answer urgently, and was afraid that if I took a wrong step my insurance would be invalid.

This insurance was worthless. The issue was that the vendor lost its license from the Canadian Consumer Protection Bureau. This issue is apparently not covered by the policy, but of course, that wasn't obvious to me when I bought it. While it wasn't covered, I think the insurance co. should provide some representation and effort to challenge the vendor to receive at least some partial reimbursement. Or some partial refund of the insurance policy.
While I expect nothing with regard to this complaint, I want to register my dissatisfaction with any insurance company that provides little to no service for this issue, which we consumers have no way of knowing or predicting such possibilities. --Rhondo Tinsley

Our practice is to send every customer a full summary of their coverage immediately after they buy a policy. This outlines all of the benefits that are included within the policy, and will explain which benefits are not covered.
In your case, the summary stated that Financial Default coverage would have been included if you bought the policy within 15 days of making your initial trip deposit. However, our records show that you purchased your policy nearly 2 months after making your first trip payment.
We send these summaries and encourage every customer to look at their policy in detail to ensure they are satisfied with their coverage. If not, every customer has a 14-day free look period to allow them to cancel for a full refund, and buy a different policy that is more suitable for their needs.
