Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
Tin Leg was great! I had to call them to get a contact number because the rental agency wouldn't release the vehicle without speaking to a real person. The customer service people stuck with us as they tracked down someone who could go that. For over an hour!!
Always helpful
I went back and forth with TinLeg multiple times via email to ask a simple question and got no substantive answer! my question was about whether the insurance typically covered a cancelled port or not. I also asked for a supervisor to get involved when I couldn’t get a straight answer from Tinleg. I was told the ONLY thing I could do was to file a complete claim. This was NOT helpful! I did not want to waste all that time to file a whole claim if it’s something you don’t cover- canceled ports happen all the time, you MUST know if it’s a covered issue or not (been there and done that with you guys on an airline cancellation and after a ton of paperwork and a lot of back and forth, the claim was denied. You seem to like to give folks the runaround and waste their time instead of giving them a direct answer). Honestly I don’t think I’ll be using Tinleg again (have used you about 6-10 times for my family) because I don’t like the way you work! While your prices and coverage seem good, your rigid practices and not being forthcoming to reduce the customer’s work makes me hesitant to use you again. Plus you denied what I thought was a legitimate airline cancellation claim a couple of years ago and I suspect you’ll deny my recent two claims for port cancellations (though making me go through all the work of filling a claim to find out). My experience with TINLEG HAS BEEN POOR!
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We understand this can be frustrating, and we're here to help. Please reach out to your claim adjuster by email so we can set up a time to talk and provide more clarity.
Made it easy and affordable
Hard to provide feedback unless you have an actual claim. Customer service rep helped me to choose the policy which was helpful.
the 24 hr assistance number worked well, with someone at 130 am EST taking my call and providing information
the claim process took about 9 days from start to finish with providing various documents to meet their compliance requirements
Although Tin Leg seemed to request more documentation than necessary to validate the claim, I believe the result was fair.
Good experience
Customer service was very helpful when contacted with questions about the policies. While I understand there is a need for clarity with begin and end dates of coverage, it very difficult to match those dates exactly with what will happen in reality with flight delays or cancellations. It would be easier if a person could be insured over a reasonable interval of time which allows for contingencies, and so not needing to call in to clarify changes unless a claim arises.
Policy was easy to purchase and claim was easy to complete.
