coming home my flight was canceled at JFK airport. I tried to call for assistant but did not get an answer on the phone. looked over policy and found it only cover $100 for the overnight canceled flight. all hotels cost were over $300 to $500. I ended up seeing in the airport. it was a bad experience.

I can't really give a thorough rating without going through the claim process. That will tell me what the company is really like. In terms of purchasing policies, they are great. Lots of options with easy comparison.
Initial purchase, documentation from Tin Leg as well as guidance when we called were excellent. We filed a claim for $ 652 and change after we returned. To date, Tin Leg has sent a response indicating that the claim has been approved and that a check for $ 595 is in the mail. They missed another $ 57 and change pharmacy change for which we have sent supporting documentation (again) and are awaiting a response which appears to be taking a while longer than our expectations. Claim processing and response would be 4 Stars or a bit less based on this delay.

I fractured my ankle in Spain and contacted Tin Leg for assistance. I was transferred three times on the phone. I didn’t receive much help how to proceed or what was covered during a very stressful time.
I was not cleared for travel back to the US until an orthopedist evaluated the injury 7-10 days later.
I have purchased travel insurance the past 15 years and luckily have never filed a claim with the same company. I read about Tin Leg in a travel blog being highly rated so I thought I’d try them this trip. Claim is in process so hopefully it will proceed smoothly.

I have had reason to file claims on three different trips and this was by far the best experience I've ever had. Communication was clear and timely. The claim was processed exactly according to the timeframe promised and I was fully compensated for my expenses. Bravo, Tin Leg!
