Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I contacted Tin Leg when my wife fell and broke her hip while in London and the response was immediate. They got in touch with the company servicing the medical aspect of the policy, FGA, who immediately contacted the hospital and guaranteed payment. If anything, FGA was willing to do more than was needed to satisfactorily insure that my wife got the4 surgery she needed and that we were able to get home safely after her release from the hospital. While she was hospitalized, the hospital never approached us for money or even a credit card to guarantee payment. FGA handled it all, quickly and in full.

I forwarded the medical bill for my wife's overseas hospitalization to them and it was paid in full. They had earlier written the hospital and told them that the payment was guaranteed by them. I only had a few reimbursable bills for incidental expenses, and, I received a refund in full. There were never any problems with the insurance and all went smoothly when we had an unexpected medical emergency overseas.
Very kind and fast ustomer service. The response time was amazing and all of my questions were answered. Will use this company again!!
My claim was due to our flight from Chicago to Munich being delayed for 6 1/2 hours. Due to that delay, we missed our train from Munich to Bolzano Italy & had to overnight in Munich.
Tinleg demanded receipts, which we had, for additional expenses incurred, but they also wanted proof of our flight delay. We had been bumped from United to Luffhansa & despite my repeatedly requesting each airline for the delayed departure time, neither could provide it. I finally sent copies of our other expenses to Tinleg & somewhat to my surprize, they paid us, except for an expensive taxi-ride from Bolzano Italy to our pre-paid hotel in Kastelruth. When I asked about that, they explained, once we were at our destination, additional expenses were not allowable.
I disagree that Bolzano was our destination, since Kastelruth was, but so it goes.
Prior to leaving on our trip, we had a death in the family. Tin Leg insurance was kind and efficient in dealing with our claim. Within two weeks of reporting the claim Tin Leg had accepted the claim and provided reimbursement. I am exceptionally pleased with the prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
I recommend this company to others. I would purchase again.
Very reasonably priced. Good coverage
They took my documents and never even called me after receipt. I just got a denial letter.
Hi Stephanie
I apologize that your claim did not have a more favorable outcome.
I have spoken with our claims team and reviewed your claim. Our records show that we completed your claim interview on July 23, and received your claim form and supporting documents on August 6. We sent an email to confirm receipt of these documents on August 6.
In your case, we received all necessary documentation, and we were able to make a decision on your claim without a second interview.
Please let me know if you have any further questions, I’d be delighted to speak with you. You can reach me at 844-240-1233.
I had a preliminary conversation with Tin Leg when my retina detached on our trip. I'll be making a claim as soon as I have my documentation together.
Talked to an agent during the trip about coverage. He was very pleasant about saying "no coverage" for the event.
The customer service representative I talked to was worthless. My flight going to my cruises was delayed and I called to see what my options were for booking another flight to the cruise port. She said that my policy didn't cover delayed flights (but it did cover trip interruptions?). She then told me my only other option would be to cancel the while trip and get a full refund, which would have cost them and me a while lot more money than simply booking another flight. Luckily through the airlines I was able to get on another flight to my destination. Missed connections seems like a standard thing that should be covered and I expect better customer service than I received so I will not be using Tin Leg again.
We apologize that you did not get a helpful response when you contacted us. I understand your flight was delayed, forcing you to miss your connection. Unfortunately, our policies do not include Missed Connection coverage.
In this case, the information we presented to you was unclear. We always want to be as helpful as possible, and we fell short of that goal.
If you have any further questions, I’d be delighted to speak with you. You can reach me at 844-240-1233.
