This was our first time to claim travel insurance so we were new to the process. We had to file a claim because my wife tore her hamstring tendon on Tuesday, one week before our trip was to commence. Our doctor told us that Thursday after 2 MRIs that she could not travel. I contacted Tin Leg Thursday evening and left a message figuring I would hear back during the day Friday. However, Tin Leg customer service called back Thursday evening and took the information to start the claims process. Over the next four weeks it required about 4 emails between me and Tin Leg, and direct emails between our doctor and our travel agent to Tin Leg to furnish the documentation Tin Leg required to process the claim. I like the way Tin Leg customer service responded to my emails and requests for guidance through the process. And their promptness in returning phone calls. From the Thursday I first contacted Tin Leg until I received a check for our insured amount took 5 weeks, which I think is pretty responsive given the documentation required.
