Tin Leg Travel Insurance Reviews

It takes minutes to purchase a Tin Leg policy. Just hope you never have to make a claim. If requirements are satisfied, you will get reimbursed, but be prepared to jump through hoops with dogged determination.

I had a four-week trip planned that had to be canceled for medical reasons. I had to submit 37 different documents which included airline receipts, airline chat communication, doctor letters and then additional doctor reports, and online chats with various lodging providers.

Each time I thought I had finally uploaded all required documents, a new request for missing documentation would arrive via email.

The claim took approximately 7 weeks to be approved. Be prepared to work for your money!

Tin leg has continued to request duplicate information and information not related to the claim. My last email to them requested that they finish the claim or I will be filing a claim with my credit card for the initial insurance purchase. I provided all the information initially requested but they keep adding more and duplicate requests. I received another email this morning and they don't seem to want to finalize the claim ($89.09). My submission of a paid doctor office visit in Ireland, within the policies filed date/timeline of the the trip, and subsequent prescription filling at a pharmacy has not been seen as adequate. I will not be recommending purchase of travel insurance. I fell fortunate that I did not have a major claim as I feel that the insurance would not be worthy or helpful with imbursement of claim.

The policy was worthless.

Had to cancel a trip due to medical emergency. Provided all the necessary documentation. The company requested ridiculous amount of additional documents, which I provided. However, the claim is still not processed. Definitely not easy to work with and good luck if you need to file a claim with them.

All good. Mostly cared about emergency med evac and medical care-prices were good. Fortunately did not have to use!

They denied my claim based on "pre-existing condition" which is ridiculous because I have NEVER been seen or treated for this condition in the past.

Great policy! Led to believe I could extend original policy if trip was extended but underwriter said no.

Nothing really to say. It’s a good website and service. I had need to use my policy so no further experience !! Yay!!

The claim process was a little complicated, but I was able to provide information and claim was processed in the timely manner. I was actually surprised at TinLegs assistance with the claim process. Everything worked out as I would expect from a trip insurance policy..
