I canceled my trip months before the departure date. I should have been able to cancel the insurance and get a refund, or at least a partial refund, since I would not be using it. The consumer is pressured into purchasing insurance quickly. Next time, I will wait until it’s much closer to the departure date.

My experience with Tin Leg was excellent. I only wanted to get medical cover for the period of a cruise in Caribbean and I was so pleasantly surprised to find how helpful and easy this was through Tin Leg as well as being a very well prices insurance (coming in at about half of what the cruise company was offering). The people I spoke to in the staff, the first when originally looking for insurance and he second when we needed to change the departure date for the trip and add insurance for my spouse, were a pleasure. They were very helpful and accurate in the information they provided as well as the product providing everything we needed (and without lots of get out clauses that I have sometimes found with other companies in the past). In summary just what I wanted from insurance, proper coverage at a good price and people who it is a pleasure to interact with.

excellent service on purchasing the travel insurance . but filing a claim and calling the 24 hr assistance I’d give a 3. still waiting for the claim if it’s approved or not.
I was informed that I had to pay out of pocket unless I was admitted to the hospital. This rule was buried in the fine print of the policy. I think this is something that should be made clear up front. Fortunately, the cost of my emergency visit was only $50 so the effort to file a claim seems greater than what if anything I will be reimbursed. I travel internationally several times a year and will not be purchasing this policy again.
