My husband died a month before our cruise and I am still waiting to hear back from my claim!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear about the passing of your husband.
The documentation we request is necessary to determine whether a claim can be covered according to the terms of the policy. After reviewing your claim with our claims team, it appears as though we are missing some documents. A follow-up was sent to your email on December 23rd outlining the documentation needed to finalize your claim.
We regret that this situation has caused you inconvenience and hope this explanation clarifies. Your claim adjuster is available to assist with any questions in the meantime. We appreciate your patience and hope to make the process smoother for you moving forward.
Tin Leg/Squaremouth has spent the last several weeks trying to find a pre-existing condition excuse for denying a cancellation claim despite the fact your own medical statement signed by an orthopedic surgeon reports a singular fall and fracture. Not incidentally, your policy covers pre-existing conditions. In addition, you keep requesting more and different documents, despite having the orthopedic surgeon's signed statement from the start. Over the past 15 years we have spent $30,000 or more on travel insurance through Squaremouth, and we will not be doing that again.
Thank you for contacting us regarding your recent travel insurance claim. We understand your frustration with the claim process, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.
We want to clarify that for claims related to a recent fall and fracture, we do not require separate pre-existing condition medical reports.
To expedite the review of your claim, we kindly request that you provide the complete medical records related to your fall and subsequent fracture as soon as possible.
We are committed to resolving your claim as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Tin Leg made it easy to evaluate and make a decision regarding travel insurance. Highly recommend using this site.

I ahve submitted claim to due to our flight being cancelled. The claim was submitted on Tuesday December 17th 2024
I have used squaremouth for a number of travel policies. Always easy to get multiple quotes, easy to understand coverage differences, easy to purchase and the limited experience I’ve had with claims has been easy too.
Was hospitalized before the trip snd couldn't go. Filed claim. It is pending. they initially asked for all my medical info, which is ridiculous. Waiting for their response.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that you were unable to go on your trip due to a medical emergency.
The documentation we request is necessary to determine whether a claim can be covered according to the terms of the policy. After reviewing your claim with our claims team, it appears as though we are missing medical reports from your hospital visit and the Treating Physician's Statement. We understand your frustration with needing to submit multiple documents to support your claim. Due to insurance regulations, certain documentation is required. We understand that this may seem strict, but these guidelines are in place to maintain fairness and consistency for all our customers.
We regret that this situation has caused you inconvenience and hope this explanation clarifies. I understand this has been a lengthy and frustrating process for you. Your claim adjuster is available to assist with any questions in the meantime. We appreciate your patience and hope to make the process smoother for you moving forward.
