Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
The paperwork they are requiring is beyond believable. I have been pushing doctors and it's been a nightmare all while being twice in the hospital for sepsis.. At this point I couldn't give them any stars.
The process takes much longer than with other vendors, with excessively detailed paperwork. Why is it necessary to submit an ID or driver’s license?
I was entirely pleased with how my claim was handled. The claims staff answered all my questions promptly and clearly, always in a manner that told me they wanted to be of as much assistance as possible. Once the claim was decided I received the reimbursement money very quickly. I don't know how anything could have been better. I won't hesitate to recommend Tin Leg.
The peace of mind from having this insurance was worth it! In my past dealings with Squaremouth, where I did file a claim, they were very helpful and prompt to pay. I believe the company has a good rating, substantiating their service and reliability.
Very good
I appreciated how easy it was to get the required information to Tin Leg for a medical claim. They were able to resolve it within a few days.
I have purchased Trip Insurance through Tin Leg at least 2 or 3 times previous to this latest purchase for a trip scheduled for November 28 -December 7, 2025. I have never had to file a Trip Insurance claim before now. My wife had to be admitted into an emergency room hospital on November 27th. After a CT scan on November 27, an overnight stay, and an endoscopy on November 28. She was told she could not go on her cruise and she was transferred by ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville where another endoscopy was performed with advanced tools. Amy was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer and was treated and released December 2nd. I am still waiting to receive documents from Celebrity Cruises and Online Vacations Center to substantiate cruise cancellation and refunds and a future percentage of future cruise credit from Celebrity. Celebrity as of 12/11 or 12/12 was offering a 25% credit of cruise cost to be used for a future cruise. I am requesting a higher percentage. I was able to get a full refund of the Allegiant Air travel purchase and a refund from Celebrity for Ship Excursions and add ons. All I need from Tin Leg is coverage for the actual cruise cost minus future cruise credits. It remains to be seen if Tin Leg will follow through with reimbursing me for the cruise cost that is not covered by some percentage future cruise credits.
Fortunately we didn't need it!
I had to file a claim for the first time in my life, due to illness before my journey. The process was smooth and I got the refund for my trip, so I am very happy! I had a high quality and low priced travel insurance that worked. Thank you Tin Leg!
I am very frustrated with TinLeg and can’t understand their high ratings. It took four weeks for my claim interview and now they keep asking for more documentation. I had a letter from my doctor stating I couldn’t fly due to an ear infection and illness, I provided doctor’s visit notes, ticket receipts, ids, etc. but TinLeg wants more, more, more forms filled out, more receipts, etc. All I’m asking is for $1,000 reimbursement, which is less than i paid for the policy. I will never use TinLeg again and have already told friends asking for travel insurance companies recommendations not to use TinLeg!
