    I won't be filing a claim, although Delta did delay my outgoing flight two hours (left 2am from JFK for Reykjavik) which was an exhausting way to start my trip. I will never flty with an airline that offers just one flight daily!

    That being said, my pre-departure experience with Tin Leg was great. The customer service rep helped me sort through the many coverage options and select the right policy. I had peace of mind, felt prepared to take on rugged Iceland and had no other issues than jet lag.

    In my experience, TIn Leg has honored their insurance policies by paying claims for covered reasons that are stated in the policy documents. The traveler MUST obtain and retain all supporting documentation, e.g., emails about delay/cancellation from the travel provider (or screenshot/download showing airline website flight status verification of delayed/cancelled flights), evidence of changed itinerary such as new boarding passes or airline-generated list of flights taken, and dated receipts and credit card statements for all hotels and meals that are included in the claim. Tin Leg also requires that the traveler obtain written documentation from the airline online customer service stating the reason for the flight delay/cancellation.

    The customer service rep I talked to was very rude.... I did not realize that we only had a certain number of days that we could change the name on a policy. That was not made clear, we knew we couldn't cancel policy but did not know about changing names within the same family....
    My husband was ill and couldn't go to Africa, so we wanted to put his coverage in our son's name. We lost the entire amount paid on my husband's trip and had to start with a new policy for our son.
    The Rep was very short and condescending when I called to ask questions. Would not recommend Tin Leg.

    I was very pleased with the Tin Leg travel medical insurance I purchased for the month of September while we were in Canada. My satisfaction dropped when we were hoping to stay a week longer and I was not able to purchase an addendum on my policy for that short time.
    Very disappointing.
