Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I have been trying for months to get $400 back from this company because my trip was canceled by the travel company. I have provided them a statement from the travel company but it’s never quite what they’re looking for. I’m very displeased. I hate to see the result if I was trying to retrieve $10,000!!!

Claim was handled promptly, but I was surprised at the exclusion of eyeglasses on the baggage and personal items policy. Also, I did not get credit for an older camera because I didn't have the receipt.

Although the requirements for documentation were lengthy and multiple...the claim was handled in a very professional way. The person assigned to my case was very helpful and responsive
I wish more/better coverage was available for healthy people over age 80. (Husband will be in a couple of years) Thank you!
My trip was entered as 7 day ( my mistake) and I emailed to say it was only 6 days. I emailed before trip started. Told price the same. Is that correct?
The email communication has been excellent, efficient and clear. Contact with claim office were very pleasant and timely. Professionalism is my description of staff.
I would never purchase any insurance from Tin Leg ever again. I submitted proof that a hotel had damaged my luggage (a letter from the hotel admitting their damage and photos of the damage), and yet they denied my claim because I did not have the original receipt from when I purchased the luggage. Had I known that I would be required to provide an original receipt, I would never have wasted my money on their worthless insurance policy. I claimed the policy coverage amount of $100 for the damaged bag, which they denied, even though they know perfectly well that wheel replacement on any bag, regardless of original cost, takes more than $100. I'm warning everyone I know to avoid Tin Leg when purchasing travel insurance. They are a scam!

Tin Leg eventually did pay the claim, which was just $62 for a doctor's visit and medication while traveling in Australia. They made it difficult including requiring I contact the medical clinic in Australia (after I was home) to get more information. I will not use Tin Leg again.
Claim documentation tedious.
We were unable to take our planned trip because my wife had an accident. We filed a claim with TinLeg and it was handled quickly and professionally. TinLeg reimbursed us for all of the non-refundable costs. I would definitely use TinLeg again.
