Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
It has been interesting filing the claim. Not as easy as I would have hoped.
I was asked to provide evidence that I cancelled my flight. My flight was booked on WESTJET. Westjet would only cancel my flight via phone. I never recieved a confirmation of cancellation email from WESTJET. I called the customer service number on westjet (was put on hold for ~hour) and requested documentation that I canceled my flight so I could submit it to Tin Leg. the westjet representative emailed me a link to request a confirmation of cancellation for my travel insurance. Unfortunately the link would only allow me to enter a flight number for an interrupted (delayed?) flight. Not a cancelled flight. I sent an email to the Westjet representative (who sent the link) to let him know and he responded he would check with his supervisor. No response
I let Tin Leg know about the snafu in getting documentation of the cancelled flight. I also asked questions about what exact medical records were requested from TIN Leg. My first visits after the injury were with a chiro. It took a week until I could get an appointment with my ortho. I had the ortho fill out the medical form for TIN Leg (I thought that would be better?). I sent an email to Tin Leg asking if they needed the chiro medical records (i saw my chiro the week before I saw my ortho). I recieved an email stating they got my email but they did not respond to my questions (~10 days).
Purchase was easy on line. I called to ask a question and received excellent service. This was the main reason I purchased with Tim leg.
Not my first purchase with Tin Leg but my first claim. So far, the claims process has been really simple, all online. I have not heard the results though of my claim.
Easy to navigate the site. Great customer service and advice and very fair pricing and choices.
This is my third trip using Tin Leg insuring our trip. They have been wonderful to work with. Our friends on our last trip filed a medical claim for over $2,000. with Tin Leg and were reimbursed within 12 days of filing their claim.
Very impressive.
The telephone service was always available and my questions were quickly answered,
They do not pay what they should based on how I read the policy. I had a full day delay, with no baggage. I had extra expenses (additional parking at my home airport, dog kenneling, taxi to and from hotel, meals, etc. They only gave me a reimbursement for dinner. This was after making me jump through hoops sending and resending both invoices and credit card proof of payments for things that they don't reimburse. Biggest waste of $2400. Hate to think what would have happened if I had had a major issue. "Oh, you will have to eat those medical bills and that evacuation cost and sorry about that whole pirate thing and your missing limbs, but have a sandwich on us for dinner!
Customer service is always so helpful at Squaremouth—I had a number of questions and the rep patiently walked through them all with me until I felt ready to purchase the policy I needed.
Had to cancel mid trip due to catching vivid. Claim in process
When will my claim be reviewed and me be contacted? You have the reciepts, I go every year to visit friends I donot use a agency book my own stuff. What is the hold up
