Tin Leg customers praise the provider’s customer service, especially when making changes to their coverage or trip details. However, some have expressed frustration with the claims process, particularly regarding the amount of documentation required.
I've always had a good experience with Tin Leg. The trip I was supposed to take was cancelled due to the travel company going bankrupt. I filed a claim with Tin Leg and they returned the entire amount of the trip in a timely manner. They were easy to work with, pleasant and professional.
I am very pleased with you
r service!!!!
Claim submission was simple. All documentation was acknowledged. Communication was prompt.
Only issue was time to receive check.
The claim process was straightforward and easy to do online. After asking for a couple pieces of additional documentation, the claim approval was quick and money was electronically deposited to our account. The claims personnel we dealt with were knowledgeable and courteous. We highly recommend the company and in fact are using them again for our next trip.
I am unhappy since I was told that my policy would not cover my emergency expenses and cancellations due to having to rush home to be responsible for my child's emergency care. I think that mental illness emergencies such as attempted ******* and completed suicides should be covered. I never expected to have this awful thing happen to my child but to not have my emergency expenses covered seems like adding more pain to an already horrible experience. Apparently members of the Connecticut legislature agree and are considering a bill that would make mental health exclusions such as this illegal.
Our original trip was planned for the Holy Land in January 2024. When war broke out October 7, 2023 the trip was cancelled and a bit later we were offered a trip to Greece during the original time period.
Converting coverage from the original trip to the Greece trip was SEAMLESS. The customer service reps couldn’t have been more helpful or more professional.
There was a medical condition that prevented our son from continuing on the planned trip. We tried immediately to reach Tin Leg by telephone with no success. There was no response to the calls. We are filing a written claim.
Hi Brian
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I apologize that we were not available when you attempted to contact us.
I have spoken with our claims team, and understand you have already filed a claim. If there is anything we can help with as you move through the claims process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Could have gotten better/more info about policy when I first contacted you
It was a very lengthy process because of repeated email requests for information I had already provided that could have been resolved with a phone call.
In frustration I scheduled a phone call with a Tin Leg representative. Even that took several days lead time.
The call resolved the issue and I gave them my direct deposit information.
A test deposit was made to my bank on 2/2/2024.
About a week later, I got an email requesting my direct deposit information and permission.
Final direct deposit occurred 2/15, 2 weeks after test deposit and ~5 weeks after I initiated the claim.
I didn't file a claim so that is the real barometer of Tin Leg.
