Very helpful making arrangements for separating from our tour and going home early.
i used my cancel for any reason clause to cancel this before it started. it has been a month, however, and they have not even bothered to check my claim to see whether i have all needed thingies. they HAVE however sent me an email that says that they HAVE my claim. not very impressed with travel insured.
It was fine. Lots of paperwork.
Mari McIver came on my claim because I was having issues with travel insurance. Her actions on my behalf were extremely needed, wanted and required.
My experience ended up very positive and the claim was paid.
I believe, without Mari's assistance, I would not be a satisfied customer.
Thank you for your professionalism and caring.
I don't know how the experience will play out. We lost a day of touring to weather problems. I am preparing documentation to see if they will provide coverage.
I am now filing a claim due to a cardiac issue that prevented my travel. I am waiting for one last document from my travel company before sending them all the paperwork they require.
Our claim was complicated by multiple medical issues which took extra time. However, responses were somewhat prompt and clear. We also had some confusion with date of deposit to put us oon the waiting list versus deposit when trip was actually booked and confirmed. Once details were provided the company promptly accepted them. Phone calls to claims were answered fairly quikcly even though recording said it might be longer. Call backs from claims representative were quick and appreciated.
The only overall negative from time claim submitted until any updates was too long, and seemed to drag out the process.
I think they offer a very good product and options for additional coverage. I made an error and called customer service and it was taken care of. Luckily I didn't need to make a claim so I can't speak to how easy or difficult that might be.
Some documents were submitted between three and five times. The website left much to be desired and was extremely frustrating. Success in document transmission came only by using email. That meant nine or so individual emails to submit almost 30 documents. It took a lot of my time as I had to re-format the documents to be sent via email and also double-check sensitive personal information could not be seen because Travel Insured did not have a secure email channel, like other providers do. It took hours to edit PDF files to create what was requested on top of the hours spent transmitting and re-transmitting. It's not like I didn't have other things to do.
Once the claim was finally accepted, a final bright spot: the person who explained why I wasn't receiving the full amount requested was the only person who provided a completely understandable and full explanation, which I could understand/accept. She went a bit beyond and told me I had up to 15 months to submit proof for the denied expenses -- those involved airfare, the use of airfare credits and the value of the remaining flight credits being claimed because I wasn't sure we could use before they expired. I would have to go back and find out when I paid for the credits and submit that proof. It was convoluted on my part, as I booked and then re-booked the flights twice because the fare dropped over time by more than $2,000. I might do that when I have more time.
You never really know if the insurance you purchased is a good fit until you need to use it.
I changed my travel dates to leave and return one day sooner than originally planned.
My interaction was as expected.
