Common carrier flight was delayed, missed connecting flight to Germany, airline rebooked me and I was delayed over 20 hours, missed part of my tour and missed my pre tour hotel that was non refundable. Filed a claim with Travel Insured International on line a week ago and have still not heard a thing, nor have they reached out to me, I try to log on to see status of claim, and there is no updates yet.
I had a medical emergency that required the plane to return to the airport, transfer to a hospital, an overnight stay there and rebooking of our travel plans. The people we spoke with throughout this stressful time were very reassuring and handled our arrangements with ease, taking a load off our minds. Luyi was especially helpful and supportive.
I called the 24 hour international assistance line multiple times and was unable to reach anyone. Very frustrating.
I purchased this policy for an international trip and suffered flight cancellations and had to re-route to my final destination. The process of making a travel delay claim was pretty straightforward on the website. I was disappointed that it took almost 30 days after submitting everything they needed for a check to be mailed (and about a week for the check to arrive). When I asked about the delay, customer service said claims were being handled in the order received and they would get to it. I've made a number of travel insurance claims and this was the slowest overall process I've had - but the claim was paid so I am happy about that. I would recommend this company given the good coverage provided, but just know the claim process itself may be slow!
Fortunately, I did not have to file a claim.
As our departure date approached, I reached out to TII to ensure I knew the right procedures, e.g., for a hospital stay you'll want to get advance payment; for more minor things, you can request reimbursement.
Also, it would be very nice to point out that for minor issues, it is OK to see a nurse practitioner at a clinic (it does not have to be an ER and require a doc).
Before a trip, there are lots of things to get done, so a note from you 1 or 2 weeks out (that I could save electronically or print and take along) would be very good and make me feel good that you are ready when needed. In that note, detail in plain English what to do per seriousness of an injury (as above, tell me about an ER / hospital stay vs attention at a clinic, maybe by a nurse practitioner.
I dealt with Sasha during an emergency we had on our trip
He was very helpful
Registration is quick and easy! Just for peace of mind while traveling oversaes!
Exceptionally easy experience to compare rates and understand policy details.
Please contact me or my son (Jon Brooklyn Oswald's) asap related to reimbursement of medical expenses.
The initial individual I spoke with was not as helpful (or motivated!) as the woman I spoke with later. I called to find out about an upgrade to the "cancel for any reason" policy and also to determine the timing in which I should call to add to the coverage based on the fact that I had booked refundable costs which did not become non refundable until a few days before our trip. The woman was very helpful and enthusiastic about Travel Insured, the benefits etc and eager to help. Thank you! The second international trip we've used your services and will do so again!
