We haven't filed the claim yet for our cancelled flight and broken luggage. Can provide more feed back once we did.

I am having a bear of time getting my claim through. I purchased 7 legs of flights in Europe for this summer. My husband was diagnosed with throat cancer before the trip and could not join us due to treatment (chemotherapy and radiation). I have sent 38 pages of documentation through the doctor's office. I purchased the flights together and so I had to call and cancel each leg for just my husband. I have documentation of the cancelations. Travelex wants the original receipt / credit charge of each ticket. That does not exist and I have told and written that to them. The price of what I need covered is divided by four - 1/4 the price since 1 of 4 people did not travel due to illness. Please help.
Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns on Squaremouth.
We empathize with your unfortunate situation, and we have contacted our Claim Administrator, on your behalf. The Claim Administrator will be reaching out to you directly, to finalize your claim.
It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and proof of loss, is an important part of processing claims, as they relate to the benefits of the plan purchased.
Thank you again and we hope you think of Travelex the next time you travel.
Kind Regards,
Amber
I had to cancel the trip the day before it was to leave. I haven't filed a claim yet, but so far they have been helpful.

I called with a question about a potential claim when I was experiencing health problems during my trip and was pleased with the customer support. There was no wait time to speak with a representative and she was able to answer my questions. Thankfully, I did not need to make a claim because the hospital I ended up being treated at was in the NHS system in the UK, so the service was free.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback!

Purchasing process was very simple.
I called today to ask about filing a claim and was astonished at how quickly the first step in the process was completed. Now I need to fill out the required form and get necessary documentation.

Purchased policy that cost 659 dollars. Bought it because your site said I would get preexisting condition waiver. Then I started having back problems, had to cancel trip. Now they say waiver was not in effect. I believe I was tricked, baited into thinking I was getting something which I wasn't actually getting. My claim is only for 2324 dollars. For the 659 I spent, I got no insurance.
Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns on Squaremouth.
We would like to take a minute to explain how the policy offers coverage for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. A Pre-Existing Medical Condition is anything that you were seen by the doctor for in the 60 days prior to purchasing the policy. In the event that you would need to cancel for something related to that doctor visit, it would not be eligible for coverage.
Our Travel Basic policy does offer a Pre-Existing Medical Condition Waiver. This Waiver lifts the restriction, or waives the exclusion, in the policy for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. This means that you are now eligible for coverage regarding Pre-Existing Medical Conditions, regardless of whether you saw the doctor in the 60 days prior to purchasing the policy.
This Waiver is obtained if the policy is purchased within 15 days of putting down your first money on the covered trip and the full trip cost is insured. If the policy is purchased outside of this 15-day requirement, then the option for the Pre-Existing Medical Condition Waiver is not available and the Pre-Existing Medical Exclusion would apply.
When a policy is purchased on Squaremouth.com, the website asks for the day that the first money was put down and calculates whether you are within the 15-day period. If you are within that period, the website advises of the latest day you can purchase and still obtain the Waiver. If you are outside of the 15-day period, the website advises that Pre-Existing Medical Conditions are not covered under the policy.
We hope this helps to clarify how the policy offers coverage for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. If you feel like the information provided to the Claim Administrator was incorrect, please feel free to contact them by phone at 1-855-205-6054, Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 7:00 pm CST.
Kind Regards
Amber
We had to make a missed connection claim. They did pay the maximum allowed under the policy.

I was most pleasantly surprised with my Travelex experience. I buy travel insurance easily half a dozen times a year, and have done so for a number of years, but have never had to file a claim before this trip. During a trip to Thailand, I became very ill with Dengue Fever, and incurred bills for emergency room care, testing, medication, and follow-up treatment. The medical bills were not substantial, but I anticipated a lot of onerous paperwork to recoup these funds. In fact, I wondered if it was even worth filing a claim, as I expected to be buried in paperwork and have to have to fight for compensation. The claim process and reimbursement for the medical expenses, however, COULD NOT HAVE BEEN EASIER. I spent about ten minutes in total answering some questions online, and then uploading photos of the medical bills, the Thai doctor's certificates, and my Mastercard statement (in which I'd highlighted the medical charges to show that I had, in fact, paid them). A week or so later, I received an email that the claim had been approved, and that they'd already issued a check. (I'd selected the check option, as opposed to a bank transfer; a transfer would probably have been faster, but I was in no hurry.) I'll add that when I first realized I needed hospital treatment, I called the Travelex number just to assure that I was doing everything that I needed to do from an insurance perspective. The guy I spoke with at Travelex couldn't have been more helpful. He told me to just go to the hospital, and that if the hospital required a large deposit for admission, to have them call Travelex and they could arrange that. (Thankfully, I was not admitted overnight, but it was nice to know that this option existed, and that I wouldn't have to worry about running up massive inpatient charges while overseas.)
Thank you for taking the time to post about your experience.
We are very happy to hear that your claim experience went both smoothly and quickly.
We appreciate your frequent patronage and look forward to insuring all your future travel.
Thank you again, and have a great day!
I spoke to a claims adjuster before I filed the claim and he asked how I bought the insurance. When I told him through Squaremouth I can tell by his reaction that the claim would process and I would receive reimbursement. I am so glad I bought through Squaremouth to assure complete and easy processing. Thank you!
