Before Trip
I had a question and stayed on the line for over 30 min, only to find out that I had been directed to claims rather than questions. I was not impressed with the answer to my question, so overall it was a very negative experience.

During Trip
I had no contact with the insurance carrier during my trip because nothing happened to cause me to have to contact them.

During Trip
I did not require any customer service assistance during my trip.

I didn't need to contact the insurance carrier, so I can't rate them. But I was very happy with knowing I had the insurance!

Before Trip
It was great to see so many plans detailed in a convenient comparison chart--especially which were primary medical coverage and which were secondary. This is important because many primary plans in the U.S. will not extend outside of our borders.

During Trip
I did not have to use the policy to make a claim, but it was wonderful peace of mind--both for the trip cancellation feature to refund if there were an emergency stopping the trip and for the medical and evacuation coverages available if needed in a country that has poor sanitatation and health care.
