Our claim was denied, even though our trip was canceled due to a family emergency that caused our hosts to travel overseas for a medical emergency. Our claim was denied as the emergency happened overseas. We felt this was very poor on the insurance company's part.

I was in Colombia without a personal cell phone. I wasn't sure how to contact the company or for what. For example, due to the hurricane in the Northeast, I was forced to stay overnight in Houston, Texas. At first I was told it would be A WEEK before I could return home. Would that have been a time to contact the company? What rights would I have had to make a claim to cover motel room?

I found that I needed to add coverage about two weeks before my trip. The CSR was helpful and courteous, and I had my additional coverage quickly with no hassle.

I had to make a change and dealt directly with the carriers customer service rep and they were very helpful. They offered a suggestion that saved me money on my change and I really appreciated the helpful attitude of their customer service dept.
