Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
Filing a Claim with Trawick has been very frustrating and challenging! They want you to do everything via email; it it almost impossible to talk to someone on the phone. ... The Policy Number provided by Squaremouth is DIFFERENT than the actual policy number that they have on record for Trawick, which has created challenges in the Claims process. I have submitted my claim TWICE - once using the Policy Number provided by Squaremouth, once using the number that Nationwide/Trawick provided. It has been almost 6 weeks since I submitted my claims. Trawick sent an automated-email both times acknowledging receipt of my information, but i have yet to hear from an actual Trawick employee and my claim is still unresolved. When I try to check online for the status of my claim, their very frustrating online system says they have no record of my Policy number. Based on this experience, I definitely would NOT purchase a policy through Trawick again!
I was seeking travel coverage in case anyone in my party contracted covid on the trip. If we tested positive had to extend the stay because we wouldn't fly back to the US, I wanted the costs covered. I had difficulty with the language of the policies - knowing what covered my specific needs - so I called Squaremouth and a woman was very helpful and explained the options to me. I don't have her name anymore.
My wife told me to get this insurance and I, honestly, didn't think it necessary but, wouldn't you know, my daughter and I both got covid and had to stay an extra week.
Let's hope the claim process is without too much pain.
In mid-April Alaska Airlines was cancelling flights left and right due to staffing and poor planning issues of their own making. With a 2022.04.17 Alaska flight departure looming for our cruise, on 2022.04.09 I contacted Squaremouth to obtain answers to several questions that I had regarding my options and obligations under the insurance policy if Alaska Airlines did indeed cancel my flight that I had booked months earlier. Although cordial and friendly, Mark did not possess the knowledge to answer any of my questions, and instead referred me to Trawick.
The Nationwide Policy does not define the term "Exchange" (which is supposed to be defined) as used on page 17 subparagraph d) of policy.
Glad to have known that if it was needed you were there.
We were able to move our policy to a new trip, with no additional fees, which was very helpful when we had to change our trip dates due to covid restrictions.
I had some questions about how to file my claim. The first time I called, I waited for a representative for 25 minutes and then it rang to a voicemail. I sent an email to customer service, but never received a response. I called again the next day and got through right away and the agent was very helpful!
Easy and outstanding customer service providing pros/cons of each policy option.
Filed claim about 2 months ago. They have done nothing with it, saying they are too backed up with covid cases.
During the emergency on the trip, they were terrific, keeping in constant contact and making arrangements.
Representative knowledge was excellent.
