Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
Since I did not have the need to file a claim, I cannot say anything about how smoothly the claim process goes.
I received an auto reply from Trawick International. I supplied them with all of the necessary documents and was told that it would be 60-90 days before my claim can be reviewed.
I requested the appropriate documents needed to file a claim two weeks ago and just got a response today. After that I just figured out how to do it. e-mailed all the paperwork to the claim e-mail two weeks ago and haven't gotten any confirmation or response.
Trawick sold the policy to Nationwide. My luggage did not show up in time to make the trip with us. I filed a claim with Trawick, they referred the claim to Nationwide. Nationwide has yet to send an acknowledgement. I sent a reminder to both today.
With everything in limbo right now I can not give a higher (or lower) rating at this time.
I called on January 4 to inform customer service that I had to cancel our trip to remain with a family member who was dying. I wanted to see if a claim was possible or if I needed to cancel the policy per the policy terms. I was advised to file a claim stating the impending death caused the trip cancellation. I am in the process of filing the claim.
Purchase was simple. Claims was jumping through hoops, but no more than any insurance claim. Follow up was next to impossible.
International Medical was great the first day when my husband had a stroke. Then kind of left us hanging. Never followed up on getting me a place to stay near the hospital. Never instructed us when we could leave the country, i.e. fit to fly. Never was able to translate the diagnosis, as it was in spanish. We finally made our own arrangements and came home. I still don't have any translated records we can show the Dr. I cannot believe that an international medical group cannot find someone to translate Spanish!
I am currently in the process of completing a claim which was cancelled due to covid
I tested positive for covid in Costa Rica on my pre departure test that I was required to take before leaving Costa Rica to fly back homes. As a result my trip was interrupted and I had to spend a further two weeks in Costa Rica recovering. I have made a claim with Trawick in relation to the additional accommodation costs incurred due to having to spend a further two weeks in Costa Rica recovering from Covid. I await their response from
