Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
Very difficult to even find the correct company to file a claim with since the policy turned out not to be in Trawick's name. I filed the claim in mid October. A few week ago I heard from Nationwide, rep, I think, saying they had just started reviewing October claims. When you go to ?Natoinwide's website, there is not dropdown for filing a travel claim. Apparently travel claims are handled by yet another subcontractor. My policy is a cancel for any reason one. It should not take much of a review. I received a membership number from Trawick. , but I have never been able to get it recognized by Trawick.
Our trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. Trawick refunded our money immediately with an email from travel agent saying the trip was cancelled. Still waiting for the cruise line to refund money, which takes up to 90 days after the cancellation notice.
Katherine Wilson of Customer Service is a real gem. She is quick (a response each time within 24 hours), efficient and professional. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
We felt confident that our needs were covered for a phenomenally low price. Excellent customer service. Would definitely seek your company again for our travel insurance.
I’ve been waiting for more than two months now, since I filed the claim and still no response.
Just good to know we had backup in event of problem.
As I write this I am still awaiting a return call from a message I left several days ago. I am stuck in Panama in quarantine because my son tested positive for COVID-19 when we went to the airport to return home. I have called customer service twice. The first time I was told that I had reached the wrong department. The second time I was on hold for quite some time before being asked to leave a message that I was told would be returned as soon as possible. And as I said I’m still waiting. Terrible customer service.
I originally called and left a message, but my call was not returned. Several days later I called the claims number and was put on hold with no indication of how long I would need to wait. I then called the customer service number and was told somewhat frantically that I would be unable to file a claim through that number. I also sent an email to the email provided by Trawick, but also received no response.
Ultimately, I succeeded in filing a claim online on Nov. 24th, but I have so far gotten no response. The claim number provided in the email from Squaremouth did not initially work in the online system, but eventually the system succeeded it in matching it. There appears to be a prefix that needs to be included (for example, Squaremouth provided no. XXX as the claim number, but the online system needed me to input YYY-XXX).
Needless to say, I am quite dissatisfied with the claim filing process. It remains to be seen if I will receive a satisfactory response within the 15 days claimed by their automated email.
I filed my claim in August and it’s been nonstop runaround and no answers and people have been anything from unhelpful to downright rude. I had mail sent to my home with my traveling companions name on it so it got returned by USPS and I haven’t even been successful it asking them to resend it despite multiple attempts. Wouldn’t recommend.
Our outbound flight on Monday from Colorado Springs was canceled. We had to move to a Sunday afternoon flight to Dallas and stay in a hotel that night awaiting our connecting flight Monday morning. None of the insurance covered this weird turn of events. Very frustrating. The agent told me I had a very slim chance of getting any reimbursement for the hotel stay. Why bother buying insurance??
