Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
During my trip I developed pneumonia. I had to return earlier on my physicians advice.
At first my claim was rejected without any explanation I appealed this decision and was then told to get a second letter from my physician. My claim was then partially paid. Co-ordinated benefit plan decided to pay for the airline rebooking but not for the hotel cancellation.I would NOT recommend during travel insurance!
Each back and forth took months. My claimtook 4 months to partial payment
Thank you

Everyone was very helpful. I accidently put the wrong date on the policy and they corrected with no issues. Easy to deal with and very helpful.
A nice perk and I will definitely use your insurance services again in the future.
Wanted to make sure there would be no problems with out trip to NYC.
Not settled yet they just continue to asked for more information very unsettling
Very easy to file a claim- once I realized I needed to fill out the claim form- duh!! First time user & I did not know the process. Might be handy if you make a check list for people who are making a claim
Rep needed my “customer number,” which wasn’t on any of the documents you sent me. He was able to look it up but the whole process seemed rinky-dink and did give me confidence.
The lack of communication about where the claim was in the process is the reason for the 3 stars. In order to file a claim, one must call a number and have the forms emailed. After that,, once the documents have been returned, there is a 15 day processing wait and another 2 weeks before a check is received in the mail. Some communication regarding the mailing of the check is needed, and there was none. There is no website where a claim may be filed, making it impossible to check the status of the claim.
The insurance I purchased was not adequate for the situation, since I was having a difficult time returning home through the Atlanta airport during the holiday season. Since it was not explicitly covered in the policy, the time off I had to take from work was not paid. I have no issue with the way the rest of the claim was handled. I initially checked the policy to see if another flight home would be covered, and the coverage would have been inadequate. I filed a claim since travel delay up to $100 per day was covered.
We purchased insurance coverage for a week in New York City. Everything was non-refundable: the hotel, theatre tickets, jazz concerts, The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City. As we are in our 80's we couldn't risk losing such a large investment because of unforeseen circumstances. We were glad NOT to have to use the insurance but were glad to have it.
We were unable to take the trip, filed a claim for injury and hospitalization. the claim was filed with Trawick Oct. 23rd and to date December 13th we still do not have payment for our loss. Poor claims service, we had to make all contacts with this Company, no one contacted us ever.
Hi Shirley, I contacted CBP, the claims office, and they said that they have paid you on 6 separate claims on December 5 so you may want to watch your mail for the checks. If you don’t get them by the 20th please contact Trawick and we will see if we can get them reissued. As a general rule, CBP won’t contact you unless they need more information to process your claim. So kudos to you for supplying everything they needed. They also count “days in claim processing” by working days so payments issued on December 5 would have been 29 days. Holidays usually add to the number of calendar days in processing.
Trip cancelled due to medical reasons for both of us. Claim mailed 11/27/18. We know it takes time to process this claim, so no concerns as of today 12/8.
Dwight, CBP takes 15 working days to get the claim into their system. Once there they will process it. If they need more information they will reach out to you directly via email or a phone call. The number one thing that holds up claims, is not sending in the documents needed to prove the loss. I hope that you got everything. If you have any issues please contact our Customer Service at 888-301-9289 between 8-5 CST and one of our staff can help you.
