    Policy # 2403118. Claim #TRSR45368
    On August 10/2024 we were in a serious auto accident through no fault of ours, forcing us to cancel our trip. We did not think we could handle the insurance and legal issues from afar.
    August 27/2024 we filed an electronic claim through Trawick International as instructed through our written policy. Hearing nothing back from Trawick either by email or phone, September 10th we made a call to check on status. We were informed the documentation needed to go through STARR and that we needed to send the files to STARR. We called STARR on September 13th again to check on the status and we were then told the documents needed to go to Mysurego and they would forward the information. Called Mysurego on September 20th and they verified documents had been received and they were in the queue. Having had no communication, on September 27th another call was made and we were instructed to call back the following Friday. We did call and were told it's still in process. September 4th again we made a follow-up call and talked with Scott and was told it was still in process but when he listed the items that were present with the claim. He noted the accident report was absent and he felt, in addition to the documentation provided by Travel with Alan that we paid in full, a copy of our credit card statement would be required. We sent electronically another accident report and credit card documentation. On September 18th we made another call and spoke with Emily and she said the claim will take 20 business days from September 18th to complete the process.This experience was tedious, having to deal with three companies and being continually passed from one to another, with misinformation about which company processes our claim. We never heard from any of the three companies but had to repeatedly call them. This was a horrible, frustrating , unacceptable experience that causes us to never buy travel insurance again.

    Communication with the claims people has been totally unacceptable as they have not even acknowledged in writing that they have received my claim which was made 2 weeks ago. Our trip was canceled due to hurricane Milton. Expected to receive much better service than we have so far received.

    Due to the hurricane, we had to postpone our trip at the last minute - in fact the morning we were to fly out, but Trawick said it was to late to move our insurance to the future date. Consequently the whole policy was a waste of money.

    So far submitting the claim has been pretty straight forward. We'll see how it goes. We had to file for trip interruption 1/2 through due to my husband getting ill and he couldn't rebound on the trip.

    On Set 25 I contacted Trawick that I would have to cancel because of illness . I had my daughter help me fill out all my forms and have contacted them multiple times and they are making it quite difficult and asking for more and more paperwork . It’s been over 30 days and I don’t know why they are making this so unpleasant . It’s hard enough being sick . Any help would be helpful . Thank you

    Trawick International policy: Safe Travels Protect

    Trawick International is one of the worst companies to deal with. They have poor communication skills when dealing with people on the telephone and obviously do not want to pay out a claim. I had Covid and my room mate was very ill the day that we were to leave for the trip. We canceled the trip with the airline and received our money back immediately. We canceled our trip with the person in charge at our Community and she took care of letting the people know with Free Spirit Vacations. I called Trawick on the date that our trip was to depart and let them know that I had Covid and asked what documentation was needed to send them for my refund. They let me know verbally and told me where to go on their website to fill out the paperwork online and everything was completed that day--September 23, 2024. Today is October 25, 2024, and I still have not received any notice of paperwork that Trawick needs or a check for my trip. This company is VERY SLOW and does not want to refund money once you take out insurance with them. My roommate is going through the same problem. Neither one of us has been successful with any of the Customer Service Representatives as to when we can expect our refund. Perhaps you can help, Thank you very much.
