I purchased insurance for 3 family members and a friend to cover the non-refundable airline flights for a trip to Nova Scotia. Unfortunately there was a death in our family and we cancelled our trip weeks before our departure. I contacted Trawick and they told me that this was a covered event. They emailed the forms and information on how to file a claim. After submitting all the necessary paperwork, we each received a check for the amount of the airline flights within two weeks. I was very pleased with customer service representative, the filing directions and the speed at which we received our reimbursement. I would purchase Trawick insurance for future trips.
The only thing I might do differently is to purchase a “cancel for any reason” policy because you don’t know if something might come up to cause a trip to be cancelled that is not a covered event.
Prices are so high for senior citizens even when in excellent health.

It was easy to file the claim. All the documents on the website were straightforward and easy to download.
However it has now been 30 business days since I filed the claim and I still have not heard anything. I will be calling again today to see if any progress has been made on my claim.

I have filed a claim because of illness, I was not able to travel. I haven't heard anything back yet.
The trip that was insured was a September 2024 riverboat cruise with American Queen Voyages that filed for bankruptcy in May 2024. Since there was no cruise to insure I requested a refund of the cost of the travel insurance. The underwriter eventually agreed to a prorated refund. While I was happy to get a partial refund, under a COVID situation I was able to get a full refund.
Our train was cancelled and I am hoping they will cover the cost of the driver we had to use since our train was cancelled.
