I tried to fill out a claim form online . I had problems, so a printed out forms and mailed them in with all necessary documents.
Purchased primary medical insurance only for a short trip to Aruba. My mother got sick (sun poisoning/dehydration) the day before we were supposed to leave. We went to see a local doctor for $125 cash. Filed the claim when we returned and received payment within 3 weeks.

I am waiting on info from the airlines to make my claim (my flight was canceled and I was rebooked 24 hours later on my return flight). My main issue with my interaction with my travel insurance was the multiple different answers I received about making ga claim. It was hard to find out who actually to talk to about my claim. different 800 numbers sent me to different companies. Still not sure I have it all resolved.
I canceled my trip the day of departure because the airline had so many delays that I missed my connection in NY as well as all my backup connections. Essentially the unending series of delays ruined my trip and I never went.
2 months after I filed a claim still no timely communication about the claim status. They keep requesting additional documentation I've already provided them.
