Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
I was extremely pleased with your customer service when I had a issue in adding to my coverage. It couldn't have been handled any better and you're first on my list for future travel insurance.
Did a good job comparing costs. Finding submitting claims not very easy!
We were delayed over 24 hours on our return flight ( no fault of ours). All the paperwork has been sent in twice and Nationwide Travel keeps wanting more information. I have sent everything with receipts. Boarding passes, receipts of cost of trips and insurance, signed documents , receipts of extra expenses twice and received a notice today to do this again. Not sure why this is problem as I was told on the phone trip delay was covered.
Sincerely, Jane
I had to cancel my cruise due to recently diagnosed cancer that required prompt treatment. I filed a claim as instructed and received full payment. My only complaint is they did not notify me along the way what the status of my claim was. I received a simple confirmation of receipt with no indication how long processing would take. I called several times to find out the status. Received check after about 7 weeks.
I like being able to insure deposit first customer service has been helpful
Submitted initial claim in December 2023, which was denied. Filed an appeal in February/March 2024 and that claim had been pending due to agents asking for additional documentation. Upon submission of additional documentation, the clock restarts and I am being told I have to either wait an additional 15-30 days. This experience has been awful and I will NEVER use carrier sgain.
I am very pleased with the process of filing claims. I was getting sick while traveling in Peru in February 2024. I had to see the local doctor, received some medical treatment, and took some prescription *****. I also had to change my travel plan with an extra hotel stay and additional flight expenses. I called the claim number after came back home. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful to explain the process and emailed me the claim forms. I completed both medical and trip interruption claim forms. I emailed back the claim forms with the requested supporting documents. The claims were proved pretty quickly and I received reimbursement checks in the mail.
I have bought the travel insurance with Trawick International from Squaremouth website several times in my previous international trips. This is the first time that I have to make the claim. I am pretty happy with the process.
Easy to buy but hard to use. I was taken ill while in Costa Rica and had a hard time contacting anyone. My phone didn't have local service so I couldn't call back to the US. In the end, I used the doctor's phone.
When I finally did, they kept telling me they couldn't locate my policy, but "don't worry - I'm sure we'll find it." Meanwhile, the clinic wanted to take me to hospital in an ambulance and wanted to know they would be reimbursed $3,000. Given the vague answers I was getting from your agent, I wasn't confident. In the end, I took a private car and flew back to the US (even thought I hadn't been treated and was in some pain) because I didn't have confidence in your service provider. First time I have ever tried to use Travel Insurance while actually abroad and not exactly impressed,

Although the process is tedious, to say the least, and I seemed to be sending the same documents more than once, the eventual outcome was satisfactory.
The policy was the best I could find given my age of 75, and preexisting atrial fibrillation condition, and also given the length of my stay in Asia, almost three months. I did visit a doctor in Thailand, for an eye infection, and the charge was under my deductible amount, so I am not claiming. I wish the deductible had been less than $250, which is quite high, I think. But I did have coverage, that was the main thing.
It was a great experience. The agent was knowledgeable and patient. The policy was comprehensive enough that I did not have to worry.
