Trawick has ignored the claim I submitted. They have at least two sets of different submitted instructions and two ways of submitting since they have limited office hours I can’t contact them on weekends or evenings, which is when I have time. If I email, I immediately receive a notice of the communications receipt. Then I hear nothing. Trawick has a separate company handling claims and none of the website communications or downloads for forms work. It has been five business days since I submitted the claim and I have even received recognition that the claim was submitted.
Our experience with Trawick was not the best! My wife injured her knee three weeks prior to our river cruise. Walking was difficult and painful. We visited Kaiser Urgent Care to make sure there were no blood clots, an ultrasound revealed there were none. The pain persisted so we went to the Kaiser ER the day before the trip to see if the trip was even possible. I had contacted Trawick prior to the ER visit and had a claim form sent. Even though my wife had severe pain when she walked and climbing stairs was extremely difficult, the doctor said he could not sign the claim form. He said the way the form is written he would have to say that "she could not travel".
The doctor did write a letter saying that because of her disability, she should be excused from the trip. I knew that would be rejected by Trawick because the doctor could not sign the claim form, so we decided to do the trip.
Because this cruise was a river cruise, all of the excursions involved a great deal of walking on uneven cobblestone and many steps. The ship provided no medical care and no elevators. Navigating the stairways was extremely difficult and painful. The overall experience for us was negative and detrimental to my wife's health.
There should be addition language on the claim form that allows a doctor to say from a medical standpoint, this patient cannot participate.
We have used Trawick on many of our 26 previous cruises, unfortunately, we will not use them again because of our recent experience. The policy was one of the most expensive travel policies that we have ever purchased, 1,748.98, when we need the coverage it was not available!
I filed a MAJOR claim. My wife had to be evacuated. 10 days in Bermuda hospital. I filed an online claim, 7 days later I called Trawick because I didn’t hear from them. They said it can take 15 days for a response. That is not acceptable. I will keep posting updates here.

This is 2nd time I used Trawick for Intl Travel Insurance. Both times rates were the best available for my terms. It was fast & easy to compare thru Square Mouth. Both times customer service was easy to reach, knowledgeable, kind & friendly. I filed a claim one time. It was handled promptly and fully. No issues. I definitely recommend Trawick!

When I contacted Squaremouth.com, I was connected to a gentlemen in customer service. He was so helpful, explaining the differences in the policies, pointing out what was the most important. It was so nice to talk to a person before I made my selection and purchase. He didn’t sound like a salesman who wanted to sell me the most expensive policy. I was happy with my choice especially since it was backed by a large company like Nationwide. I felt protected from the very beginning. I will certainly use Trawick again in future travel.
