Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
My husband got Covid half way through. We had to cancel the second excursion (five day. Safari) and he was isolated for 5 days. I did try to contact the insurance for assistance but was told they could not help me. That the insurance was only for claims upon return. When I asked if they needed my name to let them know we were having problems I was told no. Just wait to file the claim. It took 5 to 6 hours to actually file the claim with at least 7 calls for clarification. The support was minimal at best. Different responses were I don’t know why the claim only allows one entry, that is a computer glitch. I needed to contact support. I started the process at 11:00 am and when I was told to get support it was after 5. I spent hours. I stayed with it and I did file the claim on 2/15/23 and sent an accompanying email for the additional receipts and letters. It was more than frustrating.
It took about 2 months for our claim to be processed. Trawick requested information that we had already sent them. We assume this slowed the process. We were reimbursed the full amount we claimed, so we are pleased. Seems like good value for the money spent.
We thought we might need to file a claim because our daughter was injured back home and needed surgery while we were abroad. We didn't know if we could get home because the international airport was closed due to flooding. Trawick was very helpful, verifying that we were indeed covered if we went home and providing us a claim number, should we need to follow up. We didn't end up going home because of all the logistical difficulty, but we were happy to have the peace of mind things would have been covered.
The insurance policy / coverage provided for us for the Caribbean cruise was excellent! All the coverages provided were remarkable - baggage, delays, cancellation, missed connections, emergencies (health & others) were phenomenal!
Thank goodness ALL WENT WELL and no claims were necessary. I will definitely use TRAWICK International for insurance on all future trips.
Great info from agent on phone. Really helpful in deciding which policy to use.
I called pretrip with questions that were answered. Did not need to file a claim.
ZERO STARS - I purchased the Trawick International Safe Travels Voyager travel insurance policy for a cruise back in July 2022. Caught Covid during the cruise and was quarantined for half of the cruise. Didn't get to disembark and enjoy the sights as I normally would, so half of my trip was wasted. I filed a claim with Trawick, but they actually use another company to manage the claims - Co-Ordinated Benefit Plans - but their email header actually says, "Nationwide TravClai." "Co-Ordinated Benefit Plans is a subsidiary of One80 Intermediaries, on behalf of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Affiliated Companies." This is their email signature. If you try to file a claim with this company or companies, you will get such convoluted middle-man BS, that your head will spin. I have tried to reach them multiple ways - email, phone, website - but I keep getting the run around and cannot get my insurance claims settled. I am writing this fed up review in February 2023, and I'm still chasing them for reimbursement. They keep telling you they will call you back, but they NEVER do. Their email replies are automated and all phone calls have been unhelpful and dismissive. They will just wait you out until you forget about the claim you filed. Do yourself a favor and skip this company. You'll want to thank me later.

UPDATE (3/20/2023) - After filing a Zero Complaint claim with SquareMouth, they followed up with Trawick, and I finally got my claims settled. So FIVE STARS for SquareMouth. I'd still give Trawick ZERO STARS. Go with a different insurance company.
I spoke to a couple of team members before my purchase. Each was knowledgeable, friendly and guided me in order to make the best selection for my travel needs. I would definitely use Squaremouth.com again! I would recommend to other travelers.
My mother had gotten sick a week before our trip and I called to see if a claim would pay if I needed to stay home with her. It was confirmed that it would. She ended up getting well enough for me to go but it was nice peace of mind.
I had a three night delay and filed a claim. After 4 weeks I received a check for my maximum benefit. I would recommend Trawick. Last year I had a claim with a different insurer and it took 4 months after submitting documents over and over. For those of you who are new to this... keep all your recipes you have to fully document.
