Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
Trip cancellation claim filed March 3, 2025. No apparent activity on processing claim until May 27, 2025 despite assurances that it would take only 4-6 weeks; when that passed, was told 60 days. When that passed, was told it would be "expedited" and to allow another 20 business days. Then received request for more documentation and was told it would be another 20 business days.

Claim processing took over 3 months. Estimated completion was extended whenever customer asked for an update; "expedited" status just meant reset clock another two weeks.
Very happy with my overall experience with Trawick. Unfortunately we ended up needing to make a cancelation claim due to a health issue experienced by a member of the traveling party before we eve left and while it did take 2 months, I was reimbursed for the portion of our trip that was not credited by the providers I booked with.
Live-chat Customer Service agent was polite, knowledgeable, and helpful with my one-time need of information.
My husband came down with a viral bug less than 24 hours before the start of our trip. We got a doctor's statement that he should not travel for at least a day or 2. We were originally scheduled to leave Bend, OR early Saturday morning with a 5 hour layover in Seattle before continuing on to New Zealand on Saturday evening. I was able to rebook our flights, but the new flight from Seattle to Auckland left Seattle at 7 am on Monday. There is no flight from Bend to Seattle that early, so we had to fly to Seattle on Sunday evening and spend the night. I submitted the hotel bill in the amount of USD 128.66. This was denied.
Because of the delay, we missed the first 2 days of our planned stay in Auckland. According to our travel agent, the amount of the non-refundable activities for those 2 days was NZD $685. I submitted this to Trawick and it was also denied.
I have provided the required information the best I could, but still they have not processed the reimbursement. I am not happy the way they have been handling my claim. They made it so difficult.
The amount and specifics requested in connection with our claim have been excessive - well beyond what we have to provide for our medicare advantage plan.
I needed to make a minor change and the representative I spoke with was very helpful and cordial.
I appreciated the ease in setting up a travel insurance policy for my trip. I did contact customer service to extend the date of my stay in Europe and was pleasantly surprised by getting a quick and easy response to my request, with very little wait time on the phone.
It's difficult to remember the details of purchasing the insurance since it was many months ago, but I know that it went smoothly and the customer service rep. answered all my questions easily.
We had to cancel our trip a couple of weeks before departure. I let Trawick know before the trip began. I was sent to Surego and asked to fill out the forms. The forms were too hard for me to do so my daughter helped me 3 different times. It took a few days to get the doctor to fill out the forms. One lady at Surego was very helpful when my daughter called.
We sent in the forms with all the green circles filled in and my daughter learned if something was missing we would hear soon. We submitted the forms May 5th and were told it would take a week or more to hear anything. I emailed Surego May 13th to see when I would hear something. I haven't heard anything yet but hoping I will soon.

The forms were very hard to fill out and it took longer to get the check than it should have. However, the people that we talked to on the phone were helpful.
