Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
Fortunately, we didn't have to file aclaim. Everything went well throughout our trip. I only called Customer service once to ask a question; they directed me to the right source.
I t makes a difference to travel with peace of mind.
This was my first time purchasing travel insurance. The customer service department was very helpful with answering all of my questions and getting me the correct policy.
Comparing plans and choosing one was fairly clear. Printing the policy and finding the policy numbers on the documents was easy. Filing a claim for damaged, unusable luggage was a little complicated. Having to file with the airline carrier first and submit their response was a tedious process having to scan, copy, save, upload various documents, photos, receipts, all different for both companies, including completing the Trawick forms as well. I guess I didn't read the "fine print" about having to contact "primary" insurer first . I thought that meant another travel insurance company we had subscribed to (none of which we had), not the airline we flew on. However, each submission to Trawick received an auto reply acknowledging receipt. Their messages had explicit instructions, albeit involved. American Airlines responded quicker, with less hassle, and paid without question. Their check arrived as promised in a timely manner. I notified Trawick that the claim had been settled outside their venue. Never heard back from them after that. Realizing the process now, I still would use Trawick again.
Awaiting a credit from Trawick for insurance that was cancelled and not used.
It was fine. Thankfully we were able to go on our trip after a 3-hour flight delay.
Experience with Trawick during our trip was good. Easy to get hold of when you get stuck and need help. We experienced a long luggage delay so we have a number of expenses we need to claim. Hopefully that works out well since this is why I bought insurance in the first place.
No problem.....fair rates
I filed a claim on-line two days after I returned from my cruise. I had medical expenses due to Covid.
I contacted customer service and everyone was very nice, each to understand and made filing my claim very easy.
It's been almost a week since I filed my claim and I haven't heard anything so I'm unable to give a review about how that was handled.
I talked to Trawick int 24 hour assistance for the lost of the suitcase. Provided all the information but then after 2 days my suitcase was found and I picked up from the airport.
I broke my leg during a trip to Belize and I was in a cast and on crutches. I went to a public medical clinic in Belize, so I had no medical charges in the Belize. I called Trawick International to see if the insurance would cover my medical costs when I return home (for surgery) and the answer was no. All coverage stops the day your trip ends. I was also told that the policy would not cover the cost for me to fly first class (for more leg room) or buy a second seat next to me on the plane, so I could fly home with the cast. I was told that the policy would only cover the cost of me buying one economy seat home, if I cancelled my flight and had to rebook. I don't think the policy would have covered to cost of my husband to rebook his flight to accompany me home, so I would have had to fly home alone while on crutches. I ended up not filing a claim and requested a medical bulk head from the airline. I read the policy before purchasing it, but didn't realize that the coverage had so many exclusions in it.
