Trawick customers appreciate the value for money offered by the policies and the ease of modifying them before a trip. However, some travelers report difficulty reaching customer service, particularly after filing a claim.
I have emailed in attempt to file a claim, No response yet. I attached all the necessary information in the email, so I look forward to getting this processed.
I purchased trip insurance for several hundred dollars, and my wallet was stolen during my trip. I lost $600 but when I called to file a claim I was told that Trawick has cleverly written into the small print that it will not cover the loss of property such as MONEY--the most basic kind of property. The explanation I was given is that there's no proof that I ever had such money, but this is completely false. I had proof of such money in the form of withdrawal slips and receipt for the purchase of foreign cash. This is a wonderfully convenient way for Trawick to claim hundreds of dollars in insurance and refuse to cover the most basic loss there is. I'm appalled by you, and will make clear to everyone I know never to take insurance out with Trawick International.
I was disappointed to learn that I couldn't upgrade my insurance to "Any Reason" after I'd paid for the whole tour. I wasn't sick and I didn't have a new diagnosis to worry about....just didn't know much about buying travel insurance.
A page like "Has It Been A While Since You've Bought Travel Insurance?" with lots of quick bulleted information would have been a big help. Letting me know BEFORE I purchased what is available would be a quick way to make better decisions. And, believe me, if a company had that kind of information available on their home page, I'd be sure to purchase from that company.
Policy was very comprehensive and straightforward, very easy to purchase and feel protected for the unexpected events.
I will not be buying another insurance policy from Trawick. Our luggage was delayed and was told I could buy items and file or claim. It would take 60 days, yes 60, for it to be approved or denied. That’s absolutely ridiculous. I called to talk to someone and they sounded underwater. Had such a hard time hearing them. He wasn’t the most friendly person either. I was asking him specific questions about my policy but he just kept giving me general answers and kept telling me to look at the specifics of my policy. Just from this one interaction, and the very long approval process, I won’t be using them again.
I have filed a claim due to the flight delayed in June, it is yet to have any reply from Trawick. Thank you.
I have been satisfied knowing I was covered in case anything happened to either prevent the trip -- or shorten it. Everything went according to plan and it was comforting to know I was protected if necessary.
It was no hassle to cancel my first policy, great customer service. Very reasonable quote for the trip. Will use again in the future.
I had to cancel my trip due to covid so I made a claim on Mon Oct 3rd.
I called the tel No to make my claim. I was directed to the claim website. There was no option of talking to a live person.
It took me over 2 hours to fill out the claim requirements.
It was accepted and I got an e-mail message saying that all claim representatives were very busy.
It is now Oct 15th and I have heard nothing back.
So all in all. a pretty negative experience.
Geoff Nicklen.
This was our first cruise and very comforting to feel protected health wise. The coverage was exactly what we wanted and at a price we could afford.
