I was diagnosed with Covid a day before my departure. I filed a claim with the carrier together with official documentation of my diagnosis from a physician. The claim was denied with the explanation that this was a preexisting condition! What? How is this possible? They also did not refund my premium. A total scam!
Claim was filed and handled expeditiously.
It seemed they were doing everything possible to deny claim. Documentation was requested multiple times for the same thing. After calling daily for 5 days I got a rep who took an interest in my claim and got it handled. The adjusters are not available to speak to. Dealing with an intermediary is impossible. Every time you answer a request they wait 10 to 15 business days to ask for the same thing in a different manner. Very disappointing. Will not use IMG again. Have a friend who has been dealing with them unsuccessfully for 3 months.
The claim process took longer than the expectations set by the initial claim received e-mail, but everything worked out in the end. I called about the delay and was told to be patient.
Did not have reason to use the coverage but the peace of mind was well worth the price paid.
