IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.

I actually did not interact with IMG during trip - there should have been a NA for that. I filed a claim last week upon returning from trip. It was for a knee injury which occurred at airport upon arriving in Amsterdam. The claim is only for $417 for a visit to cruise doctor who examined my husband and gave him some pills. I expect a response next week as it should be a pretty basic claim. In 4 weeks I will know more. The initial claim process was on line and included downloading documents. I am able to do so but do not know if all elderly travelers could do so.

My husband saw the ship doctor due to pain in his knee which developed after a long walk in the Amsterdam airport upon arrival. I was able to apply for the $400 using the online portal and download the required documents, Within a few weeks I received the money via direct deposit into our checking account.

They had the wrong dates on the policy and they corrected them quickly.

Claim process was easy once we figured it out - but their system assumes a regular policy. We had a CFAR policy, and the claim form was not clear about that option. OK once we figured it out.

Lots of paperwork needed but it was fast.

I have used them before, and all my friends have too.
Unfortunately, I had an emergency during my recent trip, and Turkish Airlines was unable to help me. I had to purchase 2 tickets to get back home, which is the reason for my claim

When we requested medical assistance by phone we were told that “having difficulty walking” did not constitute a medical emergency… you’re on your own. We managed to get to an emergency room at a hospital in rural Slovakia and received care there with the help of a translator. The balance of our vacation was relegated to hotels. When we inquired with IMG for help in returning to the USA early, we were given two options. Make arrangements on your own or initiate a “repat”. Repat we learned is short for repatriation which would involve IMG assisting with travel arrangements. We were told that any decision on providing assistance through “repat” would require a medical review. The review process, we were told, would take 3 to 4 days, because it was the weekend. The alternative was to make the arrangements ourselves and submit a claim, and hope for reimbursement. We chose the later. As it turned out our originally scheduled return was before any decision would be rendered on the “repat”. So we waited it out in our hotel and flew home, as scheduled, with the great assistance of wheel chair personnel at airports, arranged through British Airways.
Ultimately, we submitted a claim to IMG covering only the care received in the emergency room. Due to the inexpensive nature of the Slovakian healthcare system, the claim was for less than $100. Our claim was submitted and approved 15 days later. Generally, we were not pleased by the lack of responsiveness demonstrated by IMG and will avoid using them in the future.

What makes an insurance company great is how well they handle claims. Thankfully I didn't need to file a claim. But I had peace of mind while navigating airports, having a connecting flight canceled while in the air, and figuring out how to get to our destination. Airlines are the worst unless you can afford premium seats.

My luggage was delayed 24 hours on the outbound leg. Then my flight departures and connections were moved, delayed, or cancelled on the inbound journey.
This resulted in my being stranded at EWR for an additional 24 hours. I am handicapped and the airline/airport was unable to provide the pre-arranged services.
I am filing a claim for trip interruption. I am not injured and did not require additional medical services. I am asking that my additional expenses, i.e., an additional one-day ticket/transport/hotel/taxes, be covered as contracted due to this interruption.
On your phone information line, I spoke with a very polite claim supervisor. He advised me to pursue this claim.
