IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. Some customers have experienced difficulties with the online claims portal and uploading documents. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
I created an account. I tried to file a claim, but could not fill in or add the needed documents. I scanned the receipts and proof I needed, but could not attach them to the form online. I called several times. The agents were nice, but did not solve the problem. I could not file the claim after trying for several hours.
An agent sent me an email with a manual claim form. I could not enter data into that form either.
Extremely frustrating. I finally printed the form, and attached copies of my documents and mailed it from the post office. Much wasted time and expense.
I haven’t heard if my claim is acceptable yet.
A very complex and inefficient process.
I’ve recommended IMG to several people already just because I thought it was a great price for what was offered in the policy. I will go straight to IMG to purchase travel insurance for our next trip and highly recommend them! I called a couple of times before our trip and customer service was exceptional. That’s very important to know in case you do ever have to call for help with a claim!
Agent was excellent! Knew the product and very helpful in getting the proper coverage! I think his name was Tim!
After setting my policy I requested additional coverage to cover additional non cancellable reservation and transportation. I asked for a specific amount and was told someone would contact me back a email. Days later the quote was not for the amount I requested. Email being the only way to communicate, only a I asked whether the price for amount I actually requested would be less. The day before departure and no reply, I made contingency plans for the bookings.
Your confirmation of cost, coverage and its debit came one day AFTER our departure.
I requested a refund as I had made contingency plans and was already covered. IMG’s excuse for lack of timely communication was die to “recent world events” and my request for refund of additional coverage was denied.
Following is the email convo:

Dear Christopher,
Thank you for your email.
We have been receiving a high volume of emails due to the recent world events which is outside of our control, we are trying to process all requests as quickly as possible.
As the request was received prior to the departure date, it is not possible to refund this charge and we would still honor the request.
I apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
Josh D

GLOBAL PEACE OF MIND®
From: Chris Bryant
We had canceled trip to Jerusalem on April and no reason get refunded from your company
The Claims process is a bit confusing as it directs you to IMGlobal and asks you to sign into your account to complete the claims process. However, when I go to Squaremouth login and look at my claim with IMGlobal it does not exist. There appears to be no connection to the claims side of the policy unless it is instigated online which many customers who do not travel with their computers do not have access. It would seem like these two group could cross over to make the claims process a little more user friendly and seamless.
Our trip was canceled, but we are still waiting to hear back from ITravelInsured Choice regarding refunds. It's been a couple weeks.
This is my first time making a claim with a travel insurance company. I broke my ankle in France and had to be transported and treated medically, and come home early from my trip. Although filing a claim online, was challenging, it was doable. Customer service is basically useless, because they are not the claims department. They can answer a policy question, but once your claim is filed, totally useless. There is no way to talk to the claims dept. You can ask the customer service dept. to have them call you, but it won't happen. I left many messages and emails to contact them. Every time you add expenses to your claim, it takes at least a month for them to "review" it, not the two weeks stated. Thenafetr a month, you get an email, asking for the same information and more. A waste of time. I don't think a human is reviewing the information, until you complain a few times. After 4 months of resubmitting the same information, and a few days after a very assertive complaining email, finally got settlement email. I have to admit, it was fair (not full amount). They stated that basic I signed up for direct banking deposit, it's take 3-5 working days. 2 MONTHS LATER, after another assertive email, I get the identical settlement email, but this time, it says, because I didn't give them my banking info, they will mail a check within 10 working days. What have they been doing for 2 months? SO after over 6 months, I got my check. You have to be patient, document everything, and don't give up. I never got a phone call or an email addressing my questions or complaints, but I eventually did get a settlement. One thing of advice, when being treated by a Dr. in a foreign country, besides all the medical paperwork, which is proof in itself to me , make sure they write to a letter stating you cannot continue on your trip because of your mobility limitations. You'd think the proof of injury would be enough, but they won't make that conclusion on their own. I do not recommend this company.
Squaremouth and IMG are excellent partners for traveling with confidence. I feel like my travel expenses are protected.
i unfortunately need to file a claim for trip interruption coverage. I'm in the process of waiting for medical bills to submit. i've submitted paperwork for trip interruption travel and reimb of the nonrefundable tour cost. i'm waiting for that claim to be processed and the outcome. Insurance is a funny business...you think you know what you are covered for, but then when you need to submit a claim, all the "fine print" comes into play and the jargon and nomenclature of the insurance business is difficult to understand exactly what i'm covered for.
