I understand policy.
Kent passed away, and we filed a claim which was paid promptly, but the check was made out to the “estate of Kent Peterson” I tried to get it changed to the name of the executor but they couldn’t change it. An estate account is only valid in probate of which there was none on Kent’s estate. It is not possible to set up an estate account after the fact so check can not be cashed or deposited.
On behalf of the Aegis family, please accept our most sincere condolences on the loss of your father in-law. Estate claims will always present a challenge if there is not a named beneficiary listed. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but happy to know that you were able to reconcile the check.
Once I decided to file a claim, the response with regards to the claim was prompt and forms were sent to me expeditiously.
Thank you for entrusting Aegis to insure your trip to South Africa. We hope your trip left many memories. You did experience a Trip Interruption and we’re glad to hear your claim initiation went smoothly. Our records indicate your claim was submitted in early December, reviewed and adjudicated in early January.
Hoping you will keep Aegis at the top of your list for your future travel insurance needs.
My claim is submitted. I’ve reached out to them, but they have not responded at all.
Not all of my travel expenses were covered
Squaremouth is an excellent venue to see a variety of coverage plans and fees. We had to cancel our trip 4 days prior to leaving due to a newly diagnosed case of colon cancer that had a sense of medical urgency. We called Aegis immediately and started our claim Nov 8 which was filed Dec 4 after meeting with the surgeon for needed signature.

While filing a claim was arduous, the process seemed fair and timely.
The claim asked for a physician tax I D number which I found unnecessary and unattainable. It did not affect the outcome of the claim.
I would use this company again. Thank you.
Hard drive on my phone crashed midway through my trip & lost access to my reservations and both email accounts. I submitted a claim as I lost thousands of dollars, but phone failure was not an acceptable reason for reimbursement so I had to eat a 2-week vacation in Patagonia. The claim process was smooth but getting denied lowered my rating a little. Need to expand acceptable reasons for trip interruption/cancellation.
Aegis compensated me for a cancelled flight after Squaremouth got involved.
Although I did not personally file a claim, one of the members of my traveling party of 6 ladies had to cancel before the trip began, due to a medically ordered cancellation by her doctor. At this point, she has not received her trip refund. She had submitted her lengthy required information, and then received 5-6 pages for her physician to complete. This mount of procedure is frustrating , and at this point, she is not really satisfied with her insurance purchase. I feel responsible, because I recommended Aegis to all our group. By reviews of Aegis,, I felt claims would be prompt and hassle free. Thinking for next trip, I would purchase a policy that covers" Cancel for any reason" to have a swift claim.
There was no communication and no confirmation, nobody got back to me, and I'm still not sure if the trip was even covered. Horrible experience. I know who not too choose next time.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your frustration. Upon review, we see that our representative spoke with you on November 8, 2024, and followed up with an email providing instructions to send the cruise cancellation letter and new trip itinerary so we could adjust your trip dates. It’s possible our email went to your spam folder, and we apologize for any confusion.

Our experience with Aegis was 5 star all the way! We had nothing but smooth cooperation, with interpreters, coordination and a calm demeanor by everyone we came in contact with concerning our situation. I would highly recommend this company!
